Destiny 2 Best Fusion Rifles Guide – February 2020 Meta

Fusion rifles are among the trickier weapons to learn in Destiny 2, requiring a moment to charge up before unleashing a flurry of bolts that can be difficult to aim. But used properly, they’re some of the most effective tools in a Guardian’s arsenal. From clearing adds to melting bosses to one-shotting enemies in the Crucible, fusion rifles can do it all. Here are our picks for the best fusion rifles in Destiny 2.

Erentil FR4

One of the best PVP weapons in the game overall right now, the Erentil is a Guardian vooping machine. Its high-impact frame makes it hit like a truck, albeit with a bit of a windup time. Backup Plan is a fantastic perk that mitigates its low handling stat, Rangefinder gives it better long-distance capabilities, and Under Pressure/High-Impact Reserves work well with the typically low Special ammo availability in Crucible. Liquid Coils gives you even more impact at the cost of a little more charge time. Learn to handle the Erentil and you’ll be consistently zapping Guardians out of their Supers.

Great For: PVP

Telesto

When it isn’t being disabled for breaking the game, the Telesto (is besto) is a powerful all-around fusion rifle with a twist: its shots stick to enemies and surfaces before exploding shortly thereafter. Additionally, multikills with it automatically reload it and your equipped kinetic weapon. This combination makes it especially great at wiping out masses of enemies in Gambit. It can be useful in PVP too, though the delayed damage might mean the difference between a kill and a trade.

Great For: PVE, Gambit
Good For: PVP

Jotunn

Between Telesto and Jotunn, there’s something about Exotic fusion rifles that seems to break Destiny 2 more than any other weapon type. Thankfully, Jotunn is currently bug-free, and continues to be a popular fusion rifle in the Crucible. It works much differently than any other fusion, given that it fires a slow-moving homing projectile — you’ll want to be at a bit of a distance so as to have time to get off a shot. In PVE, the explosive shots are great for taking out massed adds.

Great For: PVE, PVP, Gambit

The Epicurean

The Epicurean is a precision frame fusion rifle that has access to a number of useful perks for both PVE and PVP. In the former, Demolitionist, Swashbuckler, and Feeding Frenzy are all great picks. In the latter, you’ve got Quickdraw, Tap the Trigger, and Backup Plan, to name a few. It doesn’t have the impact of the Erentil, meaning that it’s generally outclassed in Crucible, but thanks to its perk pool it’s much more useful than its high-impact cousin in PVE activities.

Great For: PVE
Ok For: PVP

Wizened Rebuke

An Iron Banner Arc fusion rifle, the Wizened Rebuke is a high-impact frame with some flexibility depending on your roll. In PVP situations, Projection Fuse and Liquid Coils increase range and impact, respectively, while the all-important Backup Plan cuts down on charge time. It’s almost identical to Erentil in many respects, with minimally less range and slightly better Handling and Stability. Erentil might be the better pick most of the time, but Wizened Rebuke is worth checking out as an Arc alternative.

Great For: PVP
Good For: PVE
