Destiny 2 Pirate Hideout Activity Guide: How to Defeat The Lucent Brood

How to complete the Destiny 2 Pirate Hideout activities on a weekly basis.

The Destiny 2 Pirate Hideout activity is the signature task of your weekly ventures during Season 18. While Lightfall is still on the far horizon, The Witch Queen still has a ton of tricks up its sleeve, and a new season is forthcoming to keep on expanding storylines and season passes while shortening our vault inventory spaces. This guide focuses on the Pirate Hideout activity during Season of Plunder and explains how to complete it each week.

How to Start Pirate Hideout: The Lucent Brood in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 The Lucent Brood

In order to start the Pirate Hideout: The Lucent Brood quest, you first need to progress through the seasonal quest during the eigth week. Along with completing an Expedition, you’ll need to emote with the NPC Fallen crewmates at the end of either an Expedition or Ketchcrash. Once you beat the activity and open the chest, stand close to one of the NPC crewmates and emote to make them dance or interact. I only needed to do this once for it to complete this step. You can then access the activity from the H.E.L.M. space.

Destiny 2 The Lucent Brood

The last week of Pirate Hideouts is finally here. When you arrive on the asteroid you’ll learn that Eido is in danger. Make your way into the base ahead of you to find a large room filled with Lucent Hive. Most of these enemies are very easy to kill, just remember to take care of the explosive moths flying around too! There will also be a Hive Guardian you’ll need to dispatch, so make sure to crush its ghost upon killing it.

After you clear this room, go into the next chamber to find another Hive Guardian and a horde of Hive. Similar to previous fights, this boss will deploy an immunity shield whenever it loses 1/3rd of its health. To remove the shield, just kill the remaining normal Hive in the area. Once this is done, the shield will drop and you can blast the boss. After repeating this step two more times you’ll have beaten the last Pirate Hideout and get treated to a cinematic.

How to Start Pirate Hideout: Ithyks, the Scrapworker in Destiny 2Destiny 2

In order to start the Pirate Hideout: Ithyks, the Scrapworker quest, you first need to progress through the seasonal quest during the seventh week. Along with completing an Expedition, you’ll need to kill 100 enemies with a Season of Plunder weapon. The best method for doing this is to just not progress the opening portion of an Expedition as enemies will infintely spawn until you hit 100%. You can then access the activity from the H.E.L.M. space.

How to Complete Pirate Hideout: Ithyks, the Scrapworker in Destiny 2

Ithyks’ base is a little more challenging than some of the previous pirate hideouts. This is mainly because she will try to overwhelm you with a comical amount of Shanks both before and during the boss battle. When you arrive, blast one of the tripwires to destroy the entire grid. Don’t just attempt to run through them unless you want to become past tense.

Upon arriving in the main room, you will need to kill three big Shanks and pick up the Bypass Codes they drop. Each of these Shanks will drop one and will arrive with a small army of additional Shanks. Prioratize killing the normal Shanks first, otherwise, you can easily be killed by a suicidal machine.

Once you reach Ithyks, you’ll need to damage her until she retreats behind her protective shield. When this happens, more Shanks will arrive so go grab another Bypass Code and put it into the terminal near Ithyks. This will lower the barrier and let you do more damage to her. Repeat this process one more time to put an end to this cowardly pirate.

How to Start Pirate Hideout: Vrisk, the Coward in Destiny 2

Pirate Hideout: Vrisk, the Coward

In order to start the Pirate Hideout: Vrisk, the Coward quest, you first need to progress through the seasonal quest during the sixth week. The most time-consuming step is completing 5 Ketchcrashes. If you have a group, I really recommend doing Master Ketchcraft as this completes this step in a single run. For solo players, you’ll need to just grind 5 Ketchcrashes with a random group via the game’s matchmaking. You can then access the activity from the H.E.L.M. space.

How to Complete Pirate Hideout: Vrisk, the Cowardin Destiny 2

Similar to last week’s Pirate Hideout, this one is remarkably easy. When you arrive you’ll learn that Savathun’s Lucent Brood are the mysterious third-party trying to steal the artifacts. Fight through the first room of Hive and Fallen until the shield blocking the door drops. When you enter the room, Spider will inform you that Vrisk is dead so you’ll need to contend with the Hive Guardian instead. This is a very easy fight, as the boss will just summon two waves of enemies between immunity phases. There are no additional gimmicks or rooms, so focus solely on slaying all the enemies. Once everything is dead, retrieve the artifact to complete the mission. Just make sure to crush the Hive Ghost when the boss is defeated!

How to Start Pirate Hideout: Arask, the Bully in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 The Bully

In order to start the Pirate Hideout: Alaaks, the Beastmaster quest, you first need to progress through the seasonal quest during the fifth week. The most time-consuming step is killing 50 Champions. If you have a group, I really recommend doing Master Ketchcraft as this grants additional progress, letting you finish this step in one run. For solo players, grinding either Legendary Lost Sectors or the beginning of the Vox Obscura mission is the best option. Expeditions are also a solid way for those going it alone. You can then access the activity from the H.E.L.M. space.

How to Complete Pirate Hideout: Arask, the Bully in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 The Bully

Thankfully, the Pirate Hideout is remarkably easy. The actual layout of this mission is the same as the first one, with the only change being the increase in enemies. You will have more foes to fight through and a lot of sniper Shanks in the main room. I recommend using a scout rifle or pulse rifle to deal with these enemies. Once you reach Arask, deal some damage to him until this captain retreats.

Upon leaving the first room, a horde of enemies will pour into the room. Most of these are easy to dispatch, just keep an eye out for the Exploder Shanks that drop from the ceiling. After all the adds are killed, go into the next room and finish Arask off. Now just grab the relic to initiate more dialogue and some juicy lore for those interested in this season’s story.

How to Start Pirate Hideout: The Beastmaster in Destiny 2

In order to start the Pirate Hideout: Alaaks, the Beastmaster quest, you first need to progress through the seasonal quest during the fourth week. Then, after you’ve defeated the enemies in Europa and looted the Buried Treasure, you’ll have the assignment to take care of the Beastmaster. You can then access the activity from the H.E.L.M. space.

As it says so in the description, don’t worry if you’re going in solo, as your power level is automatically raised to 1550 in case you’re lower than that. I was able to complete it without any issues.

How to Complete Pirate Hideout: Alaaks, the Beastmaster in Destiny 2 Season of Plunder

When the mission begins, make your way across the asteroid field and into the large structure ahead. As the Drifter and Spider banter about Warbeasts, you’ll want to descend down the large shaft at your feet. Once you reach the bottom floor, you’ll find a room with a bunch of dead Eliksni scattered around a terminal. Upon entering the large room climb up onto the platforms to your right until you reach the open door. This should be marked with a white diamond on your HUD if you get lost!

Once you go through the door, you’ll need to crouch and jump around some rubble. The passage you’re clamoring around has seen better days, so look for any small openings in the debris. There won’t be any enemies waiting for you in this section, so don’t worry about being ambushed by rogue Fallen wandering the area. Upon leaving the airvent you’ll come face to face with Alaaks and his dogs.

This fight is actually pretty simple, to lower  Alaaks’ shield you will need to kill the three Warbeasts under its command. Once this is done, the shield will lower and you can deal some damage to him. The trick is to not become overwhelmed, as these are mini-boss tier Warbeasts so they’re a little tankier. Swords, shotguns, and glaives work best for this fight since you’ll be in close range. Additionally, there will Fallen Dregs and Vandals spawning during each phase, but these can be easily dispatched. You will need to drop Alaaks’ shield three times, meaning throughout the fight you’ll kill nine Warbeasts. After slaying this pirate, you can claim this week’s relic!

How to Start Pirate Hideout: The Blademasters in Destiny 2

In order to start the Pirate Hideout: The Blademasters quest, you first need to progress through the seasonal quest during the third week. Then, after you’ve defeated the enemies in Nessus and looted the Buried Treasure, you’ll have the assignment to take care of The Blademasters. You can then access the activity from the H.E.L.M. space.

Destiny 2 Pirate Hideout Sharpshooter 1

As it says so in the description, don’t worry if you’re going in solo, as your power level is automatically raised to 1550 in case you’re lower than that. I was able to complete it without any issues.

How to Complete Pirate Hideout: The Blademasters in Destiny 2 Season of Plunder

The first section is fairly straightforward, as you’ll have to jump through a few hoops here and there until you get to the hideout’s entrance. There don’t seem to be enemies nearby, so just head inside using the Skeleton Key at the door.

Prepare to clear a pirate crew. This will go on for a while, and until you’ve defeated them all, the door will remain locked. Take care of them and move forward.

Now, keep an eye on the next few corridors, as there are a few turrets placed in the way that can get you by surprise.

After another fight, you’ll be right in front of a staircase that leads to the fight against the Blademasters. Again, beware of the respawn being restricted as it’s the norm.

The Blademasters are super easy to beat. They have three health bars, but once you deplete one of them, they’ll just run off for a bit and return without the shield. That’s pretty much it. Rinse and repeat with both of them. There are some explosive barrels that you can use around the arena as well.

Destiny 2 Pirate Hideout Week 3 8

Congratulations on completing the Destiny 2 Pirate Hideout. See you next week!

How to Start Pirate Hideout: The Sharpshooter in Destiny 2

In order to start the Pirate Hideout: The Sharpshooter quest, you first need to progress through the seasonal quest during the second week. Then, after you’ve defeated the enemies in the Cosmodrome and looted the Buried Treasure, you’ll have the assignment to take care of The Sharpshooter. You can then access the activity from the H.E.L.M. space.

Destiny 2 Pirate Hideout Sharpshooter 1

The first section is fairly straightforward, as you’ll have to jump through a few hoops here and there until you get to the hideout’s entrance. Watch out for the enemies nearby and head inside using the Skeleton Key at the door.

Prepare to clear a pirate crew. This will go on for a while, and until you’ve defeated them all, the door will remain locked. There are a few stealth enemies that might be roaming around the area without you noticing them at first, so keep an eye on your radar so you don’t miss anyone. Then, head through the door.

The same case happens in the next room, but there are fewer enemies to deal with. Take them all out and get through the door.

After that fairly brief fight, you’ll be… right in front of The Sharpshooter! For this encounter, you’re gonna have to take the Spotter Shanks down to break the enemy’s shield. Oh, and respawning is restricted as well, so make sure to tackle those goons alongside the boss to prevent being overwhelmed.

That’s basically the process to get through The Sharpshooter’s three health bars. Rinse and repeat, take care of the remaining crew, and you’ll be set. Go ahead and claim the Relic.

Destiny 2 Pirate Hideout Sharpshooter 11

Congratulations on completing the Destiny 2 quest. See you next week!

How to Start Pirate Hideout: The Brute in Destiny 2

In order to start the Pirate Hideout: The Brute quest, you first need to progress through the seasonal quest. Then, after you’ve upgraded your Star Chart, you’ll have the assignment to take care of The Brute. You can then access the activity from the H.E.L.M. space.

Destiny 2 Pirate Hideout 1

As it says so in the description, don’t worry if you’re going in solo, as your power level is automatically raised to 1550 in case you’re lower than that. I was able to complete it without any issues.

How to Complete Pirate Hideout: The Brute in Destiny 2 Season of Plunder

The first section is fairly straightforward, as you’ll have to jump through a few hoops here and there until you get to the hideout’s entrance. Watch out for the enemies nearby and head inside using the Skeleton Key at the door.

Destiny 2 Pirate Hideout 2

Prepare to clear a pirate crew. This will go on for a while until you eventually stumble upon the Door Guardian. Take them down, grab the unstable unit, and throw it at the door to destroy it. Be careful though, as there are more enemies and a few annoying turrets waiting for you on the other side.

After that fairly brief fight, you’ll be… right in front of The Brute! Keep in mind that spawn is restricted here, which means you’ll have to restart the whole encounter if you’re taken down.

The Brute isn’t that complicated, but you have to keep in mind that he won’t be alone. Prepare yourself to take care of a ton of goons while you’re fighting him.

Destiny 2 Pirate Hideout 6

In addition, The Brute has three phases, so to speak. Once you deplete one of his health bars, he’s going to slowly make his way to the back of the cave, and other enemies will spawn in the meantime. Focus on taking all of them down and then concentrate fire on the boss. Rinse and repeat until he’s done.

The only attack that you should be wary of is whenever he charges his weapon and starts making a slow but sustained fire towards you, as each impact can deal quite a bit of damage. Again, it’s slow enough for you to move around if you need to, but keep this in mind so you don’t end up being pinned down.

Afterwards, don’t forget to grab your treasure at the end of the hideout, and that will be all.
