Destiny 2 Cloudstrike Guide – How to Get the Cloudstrike Exotic

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is finally here after months and months of waiting. Acting as the next major chapter in this FPS/RPG hybrid, players will embark on a journey to Europa to battle against a Fallen leader called Eramis and learn more about the true nature of the Darkness. This expansion includes new characters, missions, endgame activities, weapons, exotics, and enemy types. Following the new Deep Stone Raid’s completion, a bunch of quests released on Europa for players to enjoy. One of these is for the exotic snipe rifle, Cloudstike, which focuses on causing massive lightning strikes on enemies you hit. Unlike some of the other exotics, you will actually need to farm a new activity playlist for this weapon

Here is how to get the Cloudstrike:

How to Get the Cloudstrike

To earn the Cloudstrike you need to first unlock the new Weekly Empire Hunt activity. This is done by first completing both Variks and the Exo Stranger’s new quests. Once these are done, you can select new Sabotages from Variks, so complete both Europa Explorer I and Europa Explorer II. The former just tasks you with killing several dozen enemies with each weapon slot, while the latter revolves around slaughtering powerful enemies in Empire Hunts. You can actually save a bit of time by completing the steps of an Empire Hunt, minus the actual hunt itself, while working on Europa Explorer I. After you acquire both Sabotages, the new Weekly Empire Hunt will be active.

Now to get the Cloudstrike you will need to grind this playlist and keep completing it. The Cloudstrike is a rare, random drop that will appear at the end. The difficulty of the encounter doesn’t appear to matter, as the drop rate for this weapon remains on Rare regardless if you do the 1180, 1220, 1250, or 1280 variant. Mine took around 13 tries before it finally dropped. I recommend just doing the 1180 as you can easily power through it in under 10 minutes with a full fireteam. Most of the big fights can literally be skipped, so only kill the enemies you have to. When you reach the end, kill the boss, and you will receive your rewards — one of which could be the Cloudstrike. Again, you have to play the Empire Hunts through the new activity icon on your Europa destination map. The ones bought from Variks will reward you with this weapon at the end.

More Destiny 2 Beyond Light:

Along with Cloudstrike, both The Lament and raid exotic, Eyes of Tomorrow, are also available. You can earn The Lament by completing a new quest given out by Banshee-44 in The Tower. It’s a long quest, but one that’s pretty simple and it has some great lore moments. As for Eyes of Tomorrow, this rocket launcher is a random drop at the end of the raid like One Thousand Voices or Anarchy. Be prepared to grind this raid if you want to unlock this weapon!
