FFXIV Endwalker Tomestone Changes and FF4-Inspired Endgame Gear Revealed

Let's get these Allagan Tomestones of Aphorism and Astronomy for sick glam. Also enjoy the price reduction for your endgame weapon.

As part of the many things revealed during the Live Letter for the Producer for Final Fantasy XIV, the development team detailed some Endwalker endgame content, including how Allagan Tomestones are changing. Director and producer Naoki Yoshida also did his notorious paper shuffling to show off literal printouts of the new gear and glam. Much like other aspects of Endwalker, they’re inspired by Final Fantasy IV!

First off, Allagan Tomestones of Aphorism will be the lower-tier endgame currency that does not have a weekly cap. Four weeks after Endwalker launches (which is now December 3 for early access and December 7 for all after a surprise delay), you can earn the higher-tier Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy, which will be subject to a weekly cap. This aligns with when Patch 6.05 and the Savage level Pandaemonium: Asphodelos raid goes live. Additionally, the Tomestone requirement for your weapon exchange will be reduced from 1,000 to 500. Tomestones of Poetics remain unchanged.

Tomestones of Aphorism Gear

Gear sets you can get from Tomestones of Aphorism are the ones in the style of Final Fantasy IV characters. As you can see below, Paladin looks a lot like Cecil, Summoner is much like Rydia, Ninja looks like Edge, and so on.

Tomestones of Astronomy Gear

We also got a sneak peek at some of the gear you can get from Tomestones of Astronomy, which sport pristine, all-white color themes. You can check them out below.

Omega-themed Glam (MogStation)

Additionally, a few Omega raid-themed glam sets will be available on the MogStation (aka purchasable with real money). They look pretty dope, which you can see below.

This was only a small part of the extensive Live Letter. In cased you missed it, you should catch up on the bigger news, like the Endwalker delay into December, the post-launch content plans and raid, all the changes coming to Crafting and Gathering Jobs, and the return of Role Quests in Endwalker.
