We recently had the last Patch 6.1 Live Letter and saw more of the exciting content coming soon to Final Fantasy XIV. From fighting gods in the Myths of the Realm alliance raid to taking it easy on the MSQ adventure, Patch 6.1 seems like it’s gonna be a feast. But hopefully you can get your ducks in order well before it drops on April 12, because this FFXIV maintenance period will be hefty.
As stated by director and producer Naoki Yoshida, FFXIV 6.1 maintenance is going to last 24 hours. This is common for major updates — the transition to Endwalker and 6.0 in December last year also took the game offline for 24 hours before launch. FFXIV maintenance starts on April 11 at 3:00 a.m. PT and will go until April 12 at 3:00 a.m. PT. This means the game will be offline and will not be playable between those times.
In the meantime, you should gear up and get ready for the upcoming content if you’re already finished with Endwalker and taking part in the endgame. You can use our FFXIV endgame gear guide to make sure you’re equipped with what you need for the Myths of the Realm alliance raid and the new Endsinger’s Aria Extreme trial — there will be a barrier to entry with regards to your average item level. For more on these two new pieces of content, be sure to catch up with our breakdown of the FFXIV 6.1 patch notes.
This is also the last time you can earn Irregular Tomestones for the Moogle Treasure Trove seasonal event where you can earn some sweet exclusive items — and you’ll probably be running The Void Ark alliance raid to pick up Irregular Tomestones fast. This event is a good reason to run the existing versions of Castrum Meridianum and The Praetorium since they reward you with Irregular Tomestones. After Patch 6.1, both dungeons will be overhauled significantly. For everything else coming to the update, read up on everything coming to FFXIV via Patch 6.1 with our roundup.
