Nintendo promised Smash and Smash did arrive. Xenoblade 2’s Mythra and Pyra are the next two DLC characters coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in March. The two act as one character that can be freely switched between using their respective blades for different effects and moves.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was released in 2017 for the Nintendo Switch and quickly became the best selling game of the series and a surprising JRPG success for Nintendo. During the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reveal, director Masahiro Sakurai admitted that the game’s protagonist Rex just barely missed the cut-off for base game inclusion. In this trailer, Rex looked deflated at missing his shot once again.
Only two more character remain in Fighter Pass 2, which Nintendo and Sakurai have insisted is the final pass for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
