COD Warzone AS-VAL Loadout Guide – Best Attachments for the AS-VAL

Just like every previous season, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Warzone meta continues to shift with every new buff, nerf, and weapon added. One gun that’s making waves at nearly every level of play is the AS-VAL, which is a new assault rifle introduced in the Season Pass. While you can use this rifle at range, this rifle is actually gaining a lot of traction due to its close quarters viability. With guns like the MP5 constantly receiving nerfs, players have been scrambling to find the next great SMG. If you’re looking to utilize the AS-VAL as a secondary option, here are the best attachments for this weapon and why you should use it.

Why the AS-VAL?

Unlike other assault rifles such as the KILO or M4A1, the AS-VAL will primarily be used in close range. Able to swiftly eliminate targets between the 0-25 meter range, this assault rifle has a remarkably low time to kill, as the cost of having an obviously low ammo count in the magazine. However, if you can hit your shots, this weapon can utterly shred through an armored foe. You can also easily control this weapon when firing from the hip, which can keep you alive in scenarios where you don’t have time to ADS. (aim down sights). That being said, the AS-VAL isn’t always ideal for taking down multiple foes if you aren’t accurate. Because of this, you’ll want to practice using this weapon since hitting your shots is key if you want to use this in Trios or Quads.

Best AS-VAL Attachments

  • Ammunition  30 Round Mag
  • Underbarrel – Operator Foregrip
  • Laser – Tac Laser
  • Rear Grip – Stippled Grip Tape
  • Stock – VLK Strelok
  • Barrel – No Changes
  • Optic – No Changes
  • Bolt Assembly – No Changes
  • Perk – No Perk

Unlike most weapons, the AS-VAL already has an integrated suppressor, meaning when won’t need to take up a lot adding one. This frees us up to focus on improving the guns recoil control and general damage range. For our ammunition slot, we are going to use the 30 Round Mag. The AS-VAL doesn’t have a bigger mag, so the 30 Round Mag is absolutely required. You should have just enough bullets to potentially take down two foes, depending on how accurate you actually are. To help with our recoil we will be using the Operator Foregrip, which gives us some nice stability when we fire. However, if you want to rely on hip firing more then the Merc Foregrip is a better choice, but this depends on your playstyle.

Both the Tac Laser and Stippled Grip Tape to increase our ADS speed, allowing us to quickly engage any enemy that pops into our line of sight. Again, if you want to focus on hip firing the 5mW Laser is a better choice for this, but we are going with the Tac Laser since it also gives us a boost to our Aim Steadiness. Finally, you’ll want to use the VLK Strelok stock to give you another boost to recoil control. This, combined with the Operator Foregrip, should let you manage the sway when you’re using it. Since you’ll primarily be using this in close quarters scenarios, you’ll want to make sure you can quickly take down targets, so always try to aim for the chest or head.
