Xbox Games with Gold 2019 Guide – Updated for November 2019

Seeing as you’re here, reading this article, you probably already know that an Xbox Live Gold subscription comes with the Games With Gold perk. Each month, Microsoft makes two Xbox One and two Xbox 360 (or earlier) titles available for download for “free.” That’s if you’re a subscriber, of course. There are limited time windows in which to download these monthly free games, but you do get to keep them forever. So what are you waiting for? Might as well grab the games as soon as they become available!

All Games With Gold titles are playable on Xbox One — even if they are original Xbox or Xbox 360 games!

Here are the Xbox Live Games With Gold for November 2019, as well as a history of what’s been available so far this year. That way you don’t find yourself waiting for a game to be free when it’s already out of the rotation!

November 2019 Games With Gold Games

  • Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter ($55): November 1 to 31
  • The Final Station ($15): November 16 to December 15

What is Xbox Games with Gold?

Xbox Games With Gold is system of free monthly downloads for Xbox Live members. Each month, Microsoft offers four different games free of charge (besides the initial subscription cost). These can only be downloaded for a limited time, however. Miss the time frame and you’re out of luck!

If you download a game and don’t install it, or even uninstall it for that matter, you still get to keep the game. You can re-download it whenever you want.

It’s important to note that you must at least have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription to play any Games With Gold titles. If you got Celeste in January, for example, and then let your Xbox Live lapse in February, you won’t be able to launch the game until you re-up your subscription.

Over the course of the year, Microsoft says the games are worth “up to $700.”

Xbox Live Cost

Xbox Games With Gold is a free perk of Xbox Live Gold. And besides a selection of free games, it also allows you to play Xbox games online with friends and strangers. The subscription is available in multiple bundles.

  • $9.99 – One month
  • $24.99 – Three months
  • $39.99 – Six months
  • $59.99 – One year

Game Availability

Every Xbox One Games With Gold title is available for a one-month period. The first game becomes available from the first day of the month until the end of that same month. The second title, however, isn’t available until the 16th day of that month. It ceases to be available on the 15th of the following month.

Xbox 360 Games With Gold titles, by contrast, are only available for two-week periods. The first title is available from the first day of the month until the 15th. The second title is available from the 16th until the end of the very month.
