You just can’t keep a good zombie franchise down. Or, it would seem, a tough-as-nails little girl. The almost universally adored Clementine, raison d’etre for protagonist Lee in Season 1 and the heroine of Season 2 of Telltale’s The Walking Dead episodic games, is slated to reappear in the series’s third season, due out later this year.
Speaking with IGN, series creator Robert Kirkman confirmed Clementine’s upcoming appearance, though not whether she will reprise her role as a main character. This season is expected to align itself much more closely with the current run of the comics, meaning that Clementine — who is a small child when we first meet her during the onset of The Walking Dead‘s zombie apocalypse — will likely appear as an adolescent.
(Man. You know what must suck even more than growing up in a time when the dead walk the Earth? Hitting puberty all on your lonesome in that environment.)
We’re likely to learn more as we get closer to The Walking Dead Season 3’s release date, which is expected to land sometime in late 2016. In the meantime, the third episode of Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Michonne miniseries is out tomorrow on all major platforms.
