Friday tidbits: League of Legends deities, wearable Starcraft, and a Dark Souls board game

It’s been a heck of a week! A U.S. Congressman (who only coincidentally vapes) found himself in hot water for allegedly using campaign funds on Steam games; Blizzard shut down Nostalrius, a private legacy World of Warcraft server; and Fallout 4 took top honors at last night’s BAFTA game awards. Here are some of the low-key headlines and interesting curios you may have missed from the week:

  • We’re getting an official Dark Souls board game, developed by Steamforged Games (makers of Guild Ball). Don’t ready your wallets quite yet, though: the game needs to get funded through Kickstarter first. The crowdfunding campaign is expected to launch by the end of this month.
  • Real Zero Escape is a brick-and-mortar escape room game based on the Zero Escape series (999, Virtue’s Last Reward and the upcoming Zero Time Dilemma). It’s opening up next week in Los Angeles, and there are still some tickets available, if you’re in the area and want to try your hand at solving a room full of puzzles with eight friends (or strangers). EiC Laura and I will be braving this one ourselves in a couple weeks’ time, so look forward to our recap!
