If you’re the type of person who wants to play every game in a series that’s already come out prior to starting the latest and have been waiting to start Yakuza: Like a Dragon for that very reason, you’ll be happy to know that three (3) of the Yakuza games are coming to Xbox Game Pass this month, which will give you access to most of the latter half of the series for the cheap price of Game Pass’ $9.99 subscription fee (or $14.99 for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate).
The Yakuza Remastered Collection brings Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 to Game Pass day-and-date with release of the compilation on both Xbox One and PC on January 28. Now that the collection is about to be available on Xbox, the only game still missing from the mainline Yakuza series on the platform is Yakuza 6: Song of Life, which is set to launch on Xbox One and Windows on March 25 of this year. The original two Yakuza games area available as Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2, which were remakes made by developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, both of which came to Xbox One last year. Yakuza 0, a prequel to the whole series, also came to Xbox One in 2020. So if you’ve got Game Pass, you can play the whole series pretty cheaply at this point.

Control is here for PC Game Pass, specifically, the original version of the game, and not the Ultimate Edition that contains all the DLC and is eligible for an Xbox Series X/S upgrade.

Game Pass is currently available on Xbox consoles, PC, and Android devices, but reports have surfaced that Microsoft is looking to bring the service to iOS devices, as well. Even if it has to resort to a browser-based solution to circumvent some of Apple’s policies. The company was, at one point, looking to bring Game Pass to Nintendo and Sony platforms, but from the sound of it, neither of the company’s direct competitors have any interest in seeing the service on the Switch or PlayStation 5.
