A little while ago, a partnership between Capcom and nWay games revealed that Ryu and Chun-Li from Street Fighter will be guests in Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. This on its own is not surprising, as the pair have been universe-hopping for a bit through games like Fortnite recently, but it also gave them Power Rangers suits to make them fit in-universe. It probably should have occurred to us that this also means the characters will be Power Rangers teenagers outside of those suits.
From ComicBook.com, we have a look at Ryu’s out-of-ranger costume, a grungy 90’s teen with middle-parted hair and a flannel shirt tied around his waist. It is in every way absolutely incredible and I love it.
The costume comes as part of an upcoming Street Fighter DLC pack, which includes both Ryu and Chun-Li and some exclusive skins. Presumably this means that Chun-Li will be rocking her own 90s look as well, but that remains to be seen. The pack comes to the game on May 25.
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, and Stadia.
