Trevenant is Coming to Pokemon Unite to Help Your Enemies Social Distance

A new defender joins the MOBA.

Pokemon Unite’s roster is growing again with Trevenant, the Ghost/Grass Pokemon that debuted in Pokemon X&Y.

Based on its trailer, Trevenant will be a defender with a moveset dedicated to creating space, from pushing opposing enemies away to area-of-effect attacks that will have opponents keeping a wide berth. Trevenant will come to Pokemon Unite on January 20.

Trevenant is the latest in a long line of playable Pokemon that have been added to the MOBA since it launched on Switch last July. This has included some pretty popular ones, like Gardevoir and Blastoise, but a few off-the-wall choices like Greedent, and now Trevenant, as well. Meanwhile, I’m still playing Pikachu. This is because I am a one-trick who will not change, except for some very specific Pokemon like Torterra, Beautifly, or Houndoom. I’m very particular.

In other Pokemon news, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is coming to the Switch in just about two weeks on January 28. The game will take place in the Hisui region, which will eventually become the Sinnoh region. This was the setting of Pokemon Diamond & Pearl, and their remakes Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. But Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place long before the modern setting of most Pokemon games, so we’ll likely get hints of how much of the Pokemon world came to be in this game. Hopefully, at least. I’m excited to see a version of the Pokemon universe before the Pokemon League became a centerpiece for everyone.
