Setsuka Makes Her Return to Soulcalibur 6 as Its Next DLC Character

My queen.

Soulcalibur 6 is getting its next DLC on Aug. 4, and it marks the return of iconic series roster member Setsuka.

Her trailer was unveiled yesterday, July 31. Setsuka is the 11th DLC for Soulcalibur 6, as well as the third character of the game’s Season Pass Two. Season Pass Two’s past DLC characters were returning character Hildegard von Krone and guest character Haohmaru from Samurai Shodown. Season Pass One included returning characters Tira, Amy Sorel, and Cassandra Alexandra, as well as guest character 2B from NieR: Automata, as its DLC characters.

Along with Setsuka arrives DLC 12, which contains battle adjustments for all characters, Setsuka’s classic costume parts, a new stage known as the “Murakumo Shrine Grounds,” a new Grøh episode, and Character Creation Set E. The latest set will contain, among other items, a variety of Tekken-themed parts.

Setsuka was first introduced in Soulcalibur 3 and was last seen in Soulcalibur 4. She has one of the fastest fighting styles in the series, famous for her weapon of a choice — a hidden Iaito Iai sword concealed in the handle of an oil-paper parasol. Throughout all her series incarnations, she has been depicted as wearing a kimono. She was raised in Japan but was not born there. With this latest iteration of her design, her appearance has become increasingly westernized, continuing speculation that she is of European descent.

As a fan of the series since Soulcalibur 2, Setsuka has always been one of my favorite characters since her debut. I’ve been waiting for her return since Soulcalibur 6‘s release, and I’m overjoyed to see that she’s finally coming back. The news that there are yet many more additions to Soulcalibur 6‘s character customization system is also a great serotonin boost for me, as I frankly don’t know a game with better character customization than this one. Soulcalibur 6 allows you to have space for up to 100 custom characters, but its character customizer is so in-depth that this might still not feel like enough for some people.

Soulcalibur 6 is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
