Who among us doesn’t like to end the week with an announcement of an announcement? Because Nintendo and the Pokemon Company are holding another Pokemon Presents presentation next week focusing on the upcoming RPGs Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, as well as Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
The stream will take place next Wednesay, August 18, at 6 p.m. Pacific/9 p.m. Eastern. According to the Japanese Pokemon Twitter, the show will be around 28 minutes long. While Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl seem to be pretty standard remakes of the original DS games, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a brand new game exploring the region of Sinnoh long before the Pokemon League became a thing. So there’s certainly more mystery surrounding that game to be unearthed at a showcase like this.

Both the Diamond & Pearl remakes and Pokemon Legends: Arceus already have release dates, with the Switch RPGs set to launch on November 19 and January 28 respectively. The series is in the middle of its 25th-anniversary celebration, which has come in the form of games like these, as well as Pokemon Unite and New Pokemon Snap. But The Pokemon Company has also been rolling out musical tributes while collaborating with artists like Katy Perry, Post Malone, and Vince Staples.
While that’s what The Pokemon Company has officially announced, it sounds like Netflix is working on another project set in the Pokemon universe: a live-action television series. There are no real details on who or what it will focus on, but I’d love to see more stories set in Detective Pikachu’s Ryme City, which is still one of my favorite interpretations of that universe.
