Netflix Geeked Showcase to Include First Looks at Cyberpunk Anime, Sonic Prime

Arcane and The Cuphead Show will also make an appearance, as well.

Netflix Geeked is a digital event the streaming service holds to show off its various sci-fi and fantasy shows, but it also looks like it’s going to be a showcase for much of the company’s video game adaptations. For some, it will be the first time we see something of substance for some upcoming projects, including the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime and Sonic Prime.

The company released a full line-up for the week-long event taking place from June 6 to June 10 (because that week’s not busy enough already), and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be the headlining show on Wednesday, June 8, and will be the first time the anime has been properly showcased since its announcement back in 2020. The series is being handled by Studio Trigger, best known for its work on anime like Kill la Kill and Promare. Also on the docket for the Friday showcase is Sonic Prime, which we saw a brief clip of earlier this month featuring Deven Mack as the voice of the blue blur. Between Mack, Roger Craig Smith, and Ben Schwartz, there will be several Sonic voice actors playing the role concurrently. But we haven’t heard much of Mack’s take on the character yet, so hopefully we’ll hear more at Geeked Week.

Also included on the list of game adaptations are animated projects like The Cuphead ShowDota: Dragon’s Blood, and Tekken: Bloodline. But some folks like Fanbyte Assistant Managing Editor Natalie Flores will be excited to see Arcane, the League of Legends animated series, is also listed on the line-up. Whether that’s some kind of panel retrospective or something new from the show is unclear at this point, but given that the next season is still about a year away, a trailer for the next season seems unlikely. Although if it does end up being something brand new, the Cait and Vi shippers will lose their minds.
