Edge the Rabbid is the Real Star of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope

Your goth gf is a rabbid now.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope had a dedicated showcase today, and while yes, there was plenty of new footage of the tactics game, the real star of the show is one of its newest additions: Edge the Rabbid. Girl is here to reclaim the video game mascot edgelord title from Shadow the Hedgehog, who never should have been given it in the first place.

While most Rabbids in the Rayman spin-off series have been insufferable and loud, Edge is a goth who cannot be bothered with the hyperactive antics of her Rabbid brethren. She is simply too cool for school. She’s got a big sword that would shame even your favorite Final Fantasy protagonist, which she skillfully in battle. She’s here to knock these enemies out, not to put up with anyone else’s bullshit. She’s the calming presence Mario needs when he’s been dealing with other Rabbids all day, and isn’t jaded as fuck like Rabbid Rosalina, another addition to the party in the sequel. Like her, I, too, am wearing fingerless gloves at this moment.

Bowser’s also joining the player’s team as a party member in Sparks of Hope. That man is my favorite character in all of Super Mario, but I can’t even hear him over how loud Edge’s hairstyle is. That’s got to take a lot of product to get it to stand up like that. Queen of spiky hair.

Also in the showcase, it was confirmed that Grant Kirkhope (returning from Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle), Gareth Coker (Halo Infinite), and Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts) are all working on the score for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. Check out the full presentation below:
