Whoever is working on this new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game is probably upset that their game keeps being announced outside of its own channels, but today we have a new, rather entertaining leak to add to the growing list of leaks.
Jason Dill, a professional skateboarder himself, appeared on the video podcast The Nine Club, and during the nearly two-and-a-half hour long conversation, spilled the beans on a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, revealing that his board would be featured in this game whenever it eventually comes out.
At the roughly 1:36:35 mark, Dill tells the other members of the show that his board is in the game, and he saw to that because he “wanted to be in that shit too, somehow. That was a vain ass move on my part, and I will admit it.”
While NDAs are most certainly a thing for this mystery Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game, let’s not blame Jason Dill, as this is hardly the first time the game has been mentioned in places it probably shouldn’t be. Of the three times the game has been leaked, each mention has come from partners featured in it, specifically on the music and the skater side, rather than any developer or publisher mishaps. Back in March, punk band The Death Set posted on its Facebook page that they had licensed five of their songs to be used in a “Tony Hawk 2020 game,” that at the time had not been announced or even hinted at through any official channels. Professional skateboarder Lizzie Armanto also hinted at the upcoming game on her own episode of The Nine Club, but that particular bit has been removed from most versions of the podcast since, because it clearly wasn’t supposed to be in there and someone had to scramble and make it go away.

Whatever the next game might be, whether it be Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 6 or an unnumbered spin-off, a big question right now is who is actually developing the thing. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 launched in 2015 to universal negative reception, and developer Robomodo shut down just about a year after the game launched. Since Pro Skater 5 launched, a mobile spin-off called Tony Hawk’s Skate Jam was developed and published by Maple Media, but that company works primarily in the mobile space. Unless this new game is coming to mobile devices, it’s unclear just what company is working on this new game featuring Jason Dill’s board and The Death Set’s music.
All things considered, every leak source says the new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is coming in 2020, so news from official sources can’t be that far off.
