Fresh off the heels of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Insomniac is hiring for a new project that will apparently have a multiplayer mode of some kind.
The job listing for a multiplayer systems designer doesn’t have much in terms of specifics on what kind of game the studio is working on, but the person who fills the role will design and develop “player interactions and systems (including combat, navigation, progression, and economy) for a multiplayer environment.” So that’s all we really know at this point. While it might not be the highest-profile side of the company, Insomniac has a history of multiplayer elements in its games. From some of the Ratchet & Clank games like Ratchet: Deadlocked and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, to the Resistance series, and cooperative shooter Fuse. But it’s unclear if this is part of an established IP from the studio or if it’s something new. Sunset Overdrive had multiplayer, and Sony did register a trademark for the game back in May. Regardless, there’s not much to glean through the listing alone.
