As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to move away from all the fallout of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, my casual comic book fan ass is learning about a slew of superheroes that aren’t the standards the film franchise has been touching on for years. I felt this watching the trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and it’s what I felt during the newest teaser for Eternals because I have no idea who any of these people are, and that’s exciting to me.
Eternals has a pretty big ensemble cast with some big names in the mix: Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, and Kit Harington, to name a few. All of which are part of a group of immortal warriors who have been keeping their noses out of conflicts going on in the universe. But it seems like Thanos’ whole “wiping out half the galaxy” deal might have changed their minds. It would’ve probably been helpful to have interfered during said “wiping out half the galaxy” deal. But what do I know?

While Marvel movies are only just now getting back into theaters this year (which the company made an extremely odd trailer about), the franchise has also been part of Disney+ with some limited-run series. Including WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier, both of which have concluded their seasons in the past few months. Loki, a series following a time-jumping version of the titular antihero, is set to start its six-episode run on June 9. Beyond that, Disney+ will also host more MCU shows like Ms. Marvel, starring Iman Vellani as the titular hero. This show will lead into The Marvels, which will follow Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, and Monica Rambeau.
