Here’s a Recap of Everything Revealed at Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase Today

Exit the Gungeon closed out the show.

Nintendo had another Indie World Showcase today, covering some of the independent games coming to Nintendo Switch. If you missed the whole presentation, here’s a neatly bulleted list of the announcements for you here:

  • Blue Fire from Robi Studios and Graffiti Games got its world premiere trailer, and will be coming to Switch as a timed console exclusive this summer.
  • Baldo is a Ni No Kuni-style RPG coming to Switch first as a timed console exclusive in the summer.
  • I Am Dead, a timed exclusive for Switch is coming in 2020.
  • Bark, a cooperative, family-focused shoot-em-up about animals who pilot robots is a timed console exclusive for Switch coming in late 2020.
  • Cyanide and Happiness is getting an adventure game called Cyanide and Happiness: Freakpocalypse and it’s coming to Switch as a timed console exclusive this summer.
  • Summer in Mara from Chibig is a mishmash of an adventure game, farming simulator, and visual novel coming to Switch as a timed exclusive in the spring.
  • Quantum League, an online shooter with a kind of ghost mechanic that lets previous versions of your character join the fight each round, making setting up flanking and other tactics in early rounds a key component to strategies. It will be available on Swich later this year.
  • SWERY’s The Good Life is coming to Switch in 2020.
  • Hello Games announced a new adventure game called The Last Campfire, and it’ll be coming to Switch this summer.

  • Ghost of a Tale, Spring 2020
  • Sky, Summer 2020
  • Sky Racket, available now
  • Superliminal, Summer 2020
  • Wingspan, Spring 2020

In other news:

And that’s all, folks. A good showing, but I was personally hoping to hear a little bit about Boyfriend Dungeon, which was announced for Switch during the last Indie World Showcase, but still doesn’t have a release date, on Switch or otherwise. Looking over the list of games shown at the last Indie World Showcase, Nintendo didn’t spend much time at all on games that it did in the presentation that was just three months ago. Which is probably a good thing, because that means that each time the company does one of these streams it can devote more time to things it hasn’t already put in front of the audience before. That way developers get more screen time and prospective players can see more games that might catch their eye.
