Video games. They’re everywhere these days. Did you know that you can stream them now? We’re gonna test it out with a charity stream tomorrow (May 22, 2021) as we raise money for the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) on our second ever charity stream, now known as Fundbyte.
Fundbyte 2 will run for 12 consecutive hours, starting at 10am PT (12pm CT/1pm ET/7pm GMT) and ending at 11pm PT (1pm CT/2am ET/5am GMT). Hang out with the Fanbyte crew and some of our friends and colleagues from across the games media space.
Here’s the schedule. We’re playing all kinds of games, so there will be a little something for everyone. We’ve got Gang Beasts, Knockout City, Fuser, and more on deck. And as we hit donation goals, we have a few other blocks up our sleeves as rewards.
Why the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund?
We don’t need to be geopolitics experts to recognize that human rights abuse is human rights abuse. And Israel’s human rights abuses, from the unlivable conditions in the Gaza Strip to right-wing fanatics forcing Palestinians from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah, cannot be ignored. The IDF’s relentless bombing and violence against a people with no military cannot be ignored. The harassment and violence against worshippers trying to celebrate Eid at Al-Aqsa cannot be ignored. Even though a ceasefire was agreed to late this week, Palestine must now deal with the fallout from Israel’s violence. The PCRF’s goal is to identify and treat children who are in need of medical care that they would not otherwise be able to access.
There are other charities that could use some donations too. You can check out a thorough list here.
How Can I Participate?
Our stream kicks off with some Cozy Grove and coffee on Saturday, but you can head over to our Tiltify page right now to learn more about the fundraiser and donate. Tiltify accepts donations via PayPal and credit card. No donation is too small – through collective action, we can make large scale change. Make sure you’re following the Twitch channel so you can get a notification when we go live.
See y’all tomorrow!
