Do you like to see cars get messed up, but less like Burnout and more like Fornite or PUBG? Well, apparently Forza Horizon 4 is getting a Battle Royale mode called “The Eliminator,” and it’s coming out tomorrow.
This free, 72-player mode has you and 71 other cars all racing in a rapidly enclosing space, each trying to stay within the bounds of the area. Lest, you know, you be eliminated. According to the description, the area is meant to bring racers closer together as the race goes on, encouraging crashes both into obstacles and each other. Based just on the trailer alone, the mode looks kind of ridiculous but also probably a lot of fun. Check it out here:
If that short, not even a minute-long clip isn’t enough for you, Easy Allies has over 20 minutes of footage from the mode and impressions on it available on their channel.

While it’s not really “battle royale” in the way we usually know it, that Forza Horizon 4 is adapting the model to a racing game shows just how prolific the genre and mode has become. Especially in the wake of games like Fortnite, PUBG, and Apex Legends. Recently leaks came out that Call of Duty is looking to jump on the battle royale train, with datamined files hinting at a mode coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. While there’s a glut of these style of games out there right now, other games like Overwatch or Destiny could also possibly adapt the idea to their own games at some point. If Forza can find a way, Blizzard or Bungie could probably make it work in the confines of their shooters.
