You’ll Never Guess Who the Next Dragon Ball FighterZ DLC Character Is

Ready your bowels!!

There’s a new DLC fighter coming to Arc System Works’ exceptional Dragon Ball FighterZ, and you better hold on to your entire butthole because there’s no way in Hell you’ll ever be able to guess who it is! Go ahead and try, I dare you! It’s not Kami! It’s not Master Roshi! It’s not Launch! It’s not Chi-Chi! It’s not baby Gohan! Well, smart guy?! Have you guessed it?! Can you feel the excitement in your bones?! Are you ready to hear the answer?!?!

It’s another motherflipping Goku, baby!!!!

That’s right crab cakes, not only do Arc and Bandai Namco know that you want more characters for your favorite anime fighting game, they also know that when you say “more characters,” what you really mean is “more of the same characters!” That’s why Goku is back for the sixth time as Goku (Ultra Instinct), the strongest of all possible Gokus (ignoring fusions) who is also a huge spoiler for anyone that isn’t caught up on Dragon Ball Super! Aren’t you excited?! It’s Goku!! Again!!!!

The announcement was made in the latest issue of Japanese video game/manga magazine V-Jump, a Shonen Jump spin-off publication, according to a report from Gematsu. Other than the fact that Goku (Mega Impulse) exists and is coming to all available platforms, no further details were divulged. More information is expected to come out of the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals, which take place in Paris on February 8, so we’ll know more soon. Goku (Uber Aptitude) will cost around $5 if he’s anything like previous DLC Gokus, but the real question here is if he’ll kick off a third season of DLC characters for Dragon Ball FighterZ.

So far, Dragon Ball FighterZ has received 14 DLC characters over the course of two seasons, or “FighterZ Passes” in the parlance, with a full third of those characters being Gokus, Vegetas, or some combination thereof. The first season offered eight new characters for $35 (or $5 individually), while the second introduced six for $25. All six characters for FighterZ Pass 2 have been announced and released, so there’s no way for Goku (Giga Climax) to be included there. He’ll either be the game’s first DLC character that isn’t part of a larger initiative, or the first character announced for said larger initiative. Either way, it’s still more Goku, baby! What else could anyone possibly want?

On an unrelated note, here’s a list of random Dragon Ball characters off the top of my head. Not sure why I’m adding this list of plot-central not-Gokus that aren’t in Dragon Ball FighterZ to this post about Goku (Pinnacle Triumph), but let’s take a look at ’em anyway, for funsies:

Wasn’t that fun? Anyway, I hope that Goku (Ultraman Leo) does herald a new FighterZ Pass, one replete with even more Gokus than we’ve already got, because lemme tell you, I just can’t get enough of that guy. How about Goku (Super Saiyan 2), or Goku (Super Saiyan 3)? Where’s Goku (Super Saiyan God)? Why not throw Goku (Dead) in there? Now that we have Goku (GT), let’s up the ante with Goku (Super Saiyan 4)! There are still so many Gokus left for Arc to pull inspiration from, I really hope it doesn’t stop here with Goku (Ultra Street Fighter IV Primal Rage).
