ICYMI: Here’s Everything Shown Off at Devolver Digital’s Summer Game Fest Show

Including a game that will only be available through a Switch cartridge.

Devolver Digital always uses its E3/Summer Game Fest presentation to do something a little different. And 2021 was no different, as it interspersed skits and other fun things in between showing off games. If you missed the live show, you can either rewatch the archived stream or check out our full recap below:

Shadow Warrior 3

First up was a new gameplay trailer for Shadow Warrior 3, complete with a grappling hook and its fair share of fast-paced shooting and gore. The game is set to launch later this year on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Trek to Yomi

In an extreme change of pace, next up was Trek to Yomi, a game following swordsman Hiroki, who must journey beyond his ruined home to the land of the dead. It will come to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in 2022.

Phantom Abyss

Following that is Phantom Abyss, an asynchronous multiplayer game centered around overcoming obstacles within booby-trapped temples. The game is going into early access in just over a week on June 22.

Wizard With a Gun

Wizard With a Gun is, well, exactly what it sounds like. The cooperative survival game has all the elements you’d expect with the genre such as resource management, but with a bit of a magical twist. And also gunslinging. It’s coming to PC and Switch next year.

Death’s Door

Death’s Door is an overhead action game starring a reaper of souls. All’s going well until a soul meant to be filed away into the afterlife is stolen, leading you on a chase through new territory. It’s coming to Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on July 20.

Inscryption

Next up was Inscryption, a card-based roguelike with a horror backdrop. It will come to Steam later this year.

Devolver Tumble Time

Devolver Tumble Time is a big ol’ crossover game featuring various characters from Devolver Digital’s catalog. The free-to-play puzzler will come to mobile devices later in 2021.

Demon Throttle

One of the more surprising announcements was that Demon Throttle, from Gato Roboto developer Doinksoft, is coming to Switch as a physical exclusive. That means there are no plans to bring it to the eShop at this time. If you’re interested and want to pre-order, it’s being sold over at Special Reserve Games.

This is but one of several showcases happening this week because E3 and Summer Game Fest were planned for the same week, for some reason. But all of our coverage on that is part of Fanbyte’s Hot Game Summer. For more on the news, podcasts, and video coverage we’ve got planned, head over to the Hot Game Summer master post.
