Because sometimes the world can be a good and just place, the Danganronpa series is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch, and it’s bringing something brand new with it.
The three mainline visual novels in the series, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony are coming to Switch as part of a physical-exclusive collection called Danganronpa Decadence. The games will still be available on the eShop, but will be listed separately rather than under the same collection. However, these games aren’t the only thing coming to Switch, as Decadence will include an updated version of Danganronpa V3’s board game and social sim elements spun off into its own game called Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp with expanded character interactions, new sprites, and additional cutscenes. Check out the trailer for the collection below:
It is worth noting that this doesn’t include Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, a puzzle-shooter spin-off set between the first two games. So, on the game side, there’s still a bit of the story missing. But the first two game’s story isn’t concluded in the collection either, as the anime Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak High School completes the series’ chronology before Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony picks up a new storyline. It’s a whole thing.
Spike Chunsoft will also be releasing a collector’s edition featuring posters, prints, a remix soundtrack CD, and a metal box to display the whole thing. A price hasn’t been confirmed yet, but pre-orders will be going up “soon.”
