Summer Game Fest is in full swing and that means getting more details about upcoming games. Right now, Capcom is in full swing promoting the upcoming Street Fighter 6. Despite the leaks, Capcom is moving forward, recently revealing Guile at the SGF live event.
It seems that there’s more they’re holding close to the vest, however. According to YouTuber and streamer Maximillian “Maximilian Dood” Christensen, the upcoming Street Fighter 6 will feature full cross-play. The news comes via a tweet he made earlier today. Presumably, Dood spoke to Capcom at the Summer Game Fest in-person event.
Confirmed from the devs directly. Street Fighter VI will have cross play.

Street Fighter 5 had cross-play, but it was also an exclusive release on PlayStation 4 and PC. Street Fighter 6 is getting an expanded release, coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam). No console exclusives to get in the way this time; cross-play for everyone is here. Now it’s just a matter of making sure there’s cross-save as well.
Yesterday saw the full reveal of Guile and his sad, stubble beard. It seems Guile took his own advice and went home to become a family man. Sadly, the fight is never truly over. Guile will need to get back on his all-natural enhancements and swing those arms to create a Sonic Boom once again.
While we wait for more information about Street Fighter 6, you can also take a look at 16 minutes of gameplay from the upcoming fighter! The video is above and features a brief looking at all four initially-revealed characters: Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke, and Jamie. We already have an idea of who else is in the roster, but the official reveals and gameplay are still well worth it.
Street Fighter 6 will be released some time in 2023.
