In a time and age where service games continue to find new ways to make us spend money, Dead by Daylight’s approach to Promo Codes is a welcoming change of pace. Similarly to the famous Golden Keys from the Borderlands series, developer Behaviour Interactive is often sharing codes that unlock batches of Bloodpoints (the main in-game currency), Rift Fragments, and occasional cosmetic items. This guide will cover how to redeem Promo Codes in DBD, as well as a list to get yourself a hefty bonus from the get-go.
How Promo Codes Work in Dead by Daylight
Promo Codes were introduced to the in-game store around July 2020. Even if you’re not used to visiting the store, this is a good reason to, allowing you to redeem codes in exchange for free goodies with a few simple steps. It’s worth noting that you can access this feature regardless of platform across PC, console, and smartphones.
The steps to redeem Promo Codes in DBD are as follows:
- Open up Dead by Daylight on any platform
- Head to the in-game store
- On the upper right corner of the screen you will see a “Redeem Code” button
- Promo Codes are not case sensitive, so even if you see them written in all caps, it’s up to you how to input it
- That’s it! If successful, you’ll be taken to the store page again and an animation will play out displaying the award. If the code has expired, a message in red will display below the redeem code box letting you know
Bear in mind that Promo Codes are usually displayed as a word or phrase, but there have been exceptions. During the Resident Evil Chapter livestream, a code was displayed as a bunch of characters separated by hyphens. These instances are rare and a bit more time consuming to type, but they should still work regardless of platform; just make sure to include all hyphens accordingly. If you’re having trouble, try capitalizing all letters as well.
Sadly, there is no rule of thumb for when codes expire. They can last throughout the entire month they were shared on, or just a couple days. In any case, we highly advise you to not procrastinate and redeem them as soon as possible so you don’t miss out!
