Teamfight Tactics TFT Set 3 Guide – New Sets, Champions, What We Know

A major Teamfight Tactics update is due in a few months! Riot Games has announced that TFT Set 3 is on its way as part of the continued effort to rotate the set of available TFT champions every few months. Read on to find out everything we know so far about TFT Set 3 including who we can expect to show up for the party.

When Does TFT Set 3 Come Out?

No specific date has been announced. All we know is it’s expected to launch in March 2020 alongside the mobile app for Android and iPhone.

What’s Included in Set 3?

Though nothing has been confirmed we expect to get new classes, origins, champions, and items. You’ll also likely earn new cosmetics — including Little Legends and Arena Skins.

Will the Ranked Ladder be Reset?

Yes! Sometime during the release day the ladder will be reset.

TFT Set 3 New Features

We don’t know what new features TFT Set 3 has in store. Set 2 introduced things like the element of the game and elemental hexes which made players adjust each of their games to whatever the board rolled.

Thanks to the 2020 dev video, we do know that the set will likely be removing some features that fans have been complaining about.

“We’ve pulled out some of the more extreme random mechanics. That way the player with the better strategy will win more often,” says RiotMort. “We’ve also focused on making sure that building up your team and unleashing them is as satisfying as every by removing some of the more frustrating disables like Hextech and Demons.”

TFT Set 3 Classes & Origins

We don’t know many details about the new classes and origins. Keep in mind that we’ve yet to see a champion appear more than once in a set. So don’t expect to see PROJECT: Jinx, Star Guardian Jinx, and Odyssey Jinx all available.

Disclaimer: We’re basing the class names off of the skin lines. These very well may be different when the set releases.

TFT Set 3 New Items

We don’t now what Riot has in store for the item system. We suspect the item balance in the game continues to be a work in progress. However, Riot confirms that there are some item reworks on the way which should help out in certain situations.

Again, TFT Set 2 updated the item and champion drop rates based on the player level. We expect to see the same thing in March, but currently don’t have anything to share. Check back soon!
