Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Complete Edition – What Does Every Item Do?

The beloved side-scrolling beat ’em up Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition has finally arrived. Developed by Ubisoft, this game tasks players with battling through the enigmatic Ramona Flowers seven evil exes. While most will typically pick the dorky Scott Pilgrim as their character, this title allows you to select other members of Scott’s band and friends. Even though this game can be quite challenging, one of the most frustrating aspects is how items are handled. Throughout the different worlds, players can find shops and purchase goods to increase the health, stats, and experience.

However, the in-game descriptions actually don’t explain what they do at all outside of a few clues. If you’re new to the game, then you’ll want to ensure you pick up the right items when you need them. Here is a complete rundown of what each shop sells and what the items offered actually do.

When it comes to shops, you’ll be spending a lot of time in World 1. There are a number of great shops throughout, many of which offer a terrific mix of stat boosts and items such as Extra Lives. I recommend spending your money early on at the Sushi Bar and Mini Marts if you want health items during boss fights. You’ll also want to save some money every time you go through a level top pay off Scott’s Late Fees.

The No Account video has some of the best (and cheapest!) items in the game, so it’s absolutely worth the investment. As for the rest of the stores in the different worlds, they are mainly there to give you some health boosts if you’re struggling. Finally, anything that is classified as “To-Go” can be used anytime so make sure to stock up on a few healing items for the boss fights.
