Resident Evil Village Sluice Code Guide – What is the Correct Color Code

The next horrifying installment of the Resident Evil series has finally arrived. Continuing the story of Ethan Winters following the events of Resident Evil 7Resident Evil Village sees our titular hero venture into a mysterious eastern European town to save his kidnapped baby. Throughout your journey, Ethan will encounter all sorts of horrific monsters, eccentric characters, puzzles, and familiar faces. Pulling inspiration from previous entries, Resident Evil Village mixes both horror and action. While some of the game’s puzzles are elaborate, others are devilishly simple. One of these is the code to the Sluice gate.

What is the Correct Sluice Color Sequence

After you’ve turned the power on via cranking the windmill and dodging the giant fish’s attacks, you’ll be tasked with solving a color code to trigger the sluice gates. While you can interact with the console upon your arrival, it’s impossible to solve this puzzle until the electricity starts running. Thankfully this is pretty easy to do, so long as you time your movements when the fish isn’t around. It may take a few tries, but once you get the power on, use the zip-line to reach the power station. Once you’re ready, interact with the console facing the gate.

While you are shown the sequence on your right, this paper is actually turned the wrong way. Of the three colors, you can make the switches, black is not one of them. Meaning if you rotate the paper 90 degrees to the left, you will have the correct pattern for the switches. To save you some time (and any headaches), you’ll need to push the buttons so they look like the image above.

This sequence from top to bottom, left to right is:

  • Blue
  • White
  • Orange
  • White
  • Orange
  • Black
  • Orange
  • Blue
  • Blue

Inputting this will raining the sluice and all of the water out of the reservoir. I recommend going back to the Duke and saving. Additionally, you’ll want to pick up some explosive rounds, mines, and pipe bombs for the next section. You’ll be battling Moreau and his massive fish, but thankfully, explosives do a lot of work in this fight. This is going to be one of the toughest fights so far, so make sure you’re adequately stocked on everything before leaving. Moreau can be tricky, so use anything that blows up to force the man out of the giant fish so you can damage him. You’ll also want to watch out for any of his attacks, as they deal a comical amount of damage on Standard difficulty. Do not underestimate this enemy, he will absolutely kill you if you don’t keep your distance.
