Continuing the story of Ethan Winters following the events of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village sees our titular hero venture into a mysterious eastern European town to save his kidnapped baby. Throughout your journey, Ethan will encounter all sorts of horrific monsters, eccentric characters, puzzles, and familiar faces. Pulling inspiration from previous entries, Resident Evil Village mixes both horror and action. Throughout your journey would will come across a number of puzzles in Ethan’s path. One of these is in the castle and requires the player to ring five hidden bells in a room called the Atelier.
Atelier Bell Locations
You will need a total of six bullets to complete this puzzle, so make sure you have ammo before going here. If you’re low on rounds, you can find some handgun ammo by breaking the glass on the dresser along the right wall. This will give you 15 free bullets, so make them count!
The first bell can be found directly to the left of the painting next to the wall. Strike this with your knife to ignite the top and cause it to ring.
Your second bell is swinging back and forth behind the wall with the gears. This one can be a little tricky since you have to hit the bell while it’s moving. Instead of wasting time shooting it in the center, aim your crosshairs at the top left opening. Wait until the bell reaches the apex of its swing on this side before firing a single bullet to cause it to ring. There’s no rush, so take your time and only fire when you’re positive that the bullet will hit.
The third bell is actually hidden in the chandelier above. Climb up the small staircase and shoot the chandelier to cause it to swing. Right as it swings back, the bell inside will be exposed long enough for you to hit it with a bullet. You will need to be pretty quick with this one, so be ready for a follow-up shot the second you hit the chandelier.
The fourth bell is actually located outside. At the top of the stairs, you will be able to see the bell hanging in the distance. Use one bullet to break the glass and then a second one to strike the bell causing it to swing. For whatever reason, you cannot both break the glass and hit the bell at the same time.
Finally, the last bell is super tiny and is on top of the dresser along the right wall. Just aim and shoot it to cause the last bell to ring completing the puzzle. Doing so will make the painting move, giving you access to the crawlspace behind the walls. Inside you’ll find a potted plant that can break on the left, along with a ladder that leads you upstairs. It’s here that you can actually obtain the sniper rifle if you have the inventory space, along with a lockpick guarded by a ghoul.
