PUBG Mobile Season 16 Week 3 Challenges – Tips and Tricks

The Hunt for Red Flare Gun

Unlike the past two weeks, PUBG Mobile Season 16 Week 3 is (almost) all about Classic mode. You’re not being forced to play on Erangel this time around, but with only a single Arena requirement available, there’s little to no wiggle room for players who believe that variety is the spice of life. For Elite Pass holders, there’s an interesting take on the traditional road trip mission that gets shorter the rarer the vehicle you choose. For everyone else, it’s another kill or be killed kind of week, featuring a load of pickups we often ignore. Here’s the complete Season 16 Week 3 mission list.

Aid Mission: Kill 28 enemies with SMGs in Sanhok in Classic mode

SMGs always come out on top when they’re used in the first context. The high spread from their intense rate of fire makes them hard to recommend for distant targets. That’s what assault rifles are for. Use them in close-range combat, however, and they become an incredible force to be reckoned with. Keep one close at hand when skulking in and around buildings and you’ll get your kills in no time. Look for extended mags to make dealing with squads just that little bit easier. A silencer can help, too.

Choice Mission

  1. Land on any rooftop in Paradise Resort (Sanhok) 3 times in Classic mode

    • Paradise Resort is basically one big rooftop, making it one of the easiest ways to tick this mission off. The positives introduce a negative, however. Expect stiff competition on Day 1.
  2. Land on any rooftop in Pecado (Miramar) 3 times in Classic mode

    • Pecado is a tiny town between the popular loot locations of San Martin and Los Leones. You should have no trouble sticking a landing here, but you’ll be easily visible to looters.
  3. Land on any rooftop in Sosnovka Military Base (Erangel) 3 times in Classic mode

    • You’ll have to aim toward the north of the island to hit up a rooftop here. It’s a popular spot, so you can be sure war will break out as soon as you land. Prepare yourself.

Reach Platinum or above in Classic mode

It’s time to crush some dreams. Despite how it sounds, Platinum is far from the top. It’s not that special, nor is it particularly hard to reach. If you’re having trouble climbing the ladder, watching pro players or YouTube influencers can be a good way to literally learn from the best. One quick-fire tip, though? Stop picking fights. The longer you last in a match, the easier it is to climb. The game doesn’t require you to win every time you want to rank up. Avoid the fights and you’ll automatically position higher in the round as others take them out.

Kill 2 enemies with Grenades from 18 meters away in Classic mode

Grenades usually seal the deal in top-tier play. Watch any old tournament final VOD and you’ll likely see an explosive pineapple influence the outcome. Confounding your enemy is the key to getting kills with these things. Toss them into spots that force their hand – when they’re in cover behind a tree or rock, or sniping out of a window. The split decision of whether to expose themselves or attempt to deal with it some other way often leads to a kill.

Pick up Crossbow in 5 matches in Classic mode

The key to this one is right there in the title. All you need to do is pick up the Crossbow. You don’t have to use it, kill anyone with it, or even get ammo for it. Just find it, pick it up, and swap it out for the same gun again. While the Crossbow is an unstoppable killing machine, it’s hard to use and will very likely get an inexperienced player killed. They’re not for everyone. That’s why you only need to essentially acknowledge its existence for this mission. You don’t have to use it.

Pick up Extended Quickdraw Mag (AR) in 16 matches in Classic mode

While the mention of 16 matches can be a major red flag for some missions, this one shouldn’t become much of an issue. ARs are by far the most common weapon on the battlefield, making an Extended Quickdraw Mag a decent bit of kit to scout out. Like a few other missions, this one is likely designed to remind people that the attachment exists rather than actually be hard to complete. They’re common sights on the floor. You just need to pick them up.

Friend Bonus: Kill an enemy from 100 meters away 3 times in Classic mode

Most guns tend to see their damage trickle off fast at the 100-meter range, making this a rifle-only sort of mission. Assault Rifles with a 4x scope can get you there without much thought, but not particularly quickly. To clear this one fast, you’ll want to outfit yourself with a half-decent sniper rifle, scope, and the patience to pick off a target over the horizon. The further out your target is, the more important aiming high and ahead becomes.

Choice Mission

  1. Travel for a total of 4000 meters while driving a Monster truck in Classic mode

    • The monster truck is found primarily on Livik, PUBG Mobile’s unique map. 4000 meters in this 2×2 map is pretty self-explanatory, so we’ll leave it at that.
  2. Travel for a total of 1500 meters while driving a jet ski in Classic mode

    • The Aquarail jet ski is a fun little ride found on the waters of Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok. It’s particularly hard for enemies to give chase when you’re in one of these, but they do leave you completely exposed. Take it somewhere without too many flanking spots.
  3. Travel for a total of 400 meters while driving an Air Drop Armored Vehicle in Classic mode
    • If you’re lucky enough to find a Flare Gun, fire that bad boy off outside of the ring and you’ll get yourself a fancy vehicle that doubles as a shortcut to clear this week’s choice mission. Not bad.

Kill a total of 25 enemies in Arena

Finally, something other than Classic mode this week. Too bad it’s for paying customers only. Arena mode challenges are a great way to diversify your playstyle, learn a new weapon, or otherwise take a break from the stress of Classic. If you’re in no rush for the RP, just hop in and out to recharge between Classic sessions and you’ll clear this naturally. If you’re not a fan, though, Domination is probably the faster way to grab what you need and go.

Use Bandages 30 times in Classic mode

There’s no saying this has to be over the course of 30 matches. Not that it should be, anyway. It takes a good two or three bandages to patch up the holes Medkits can’t fix, and since movement while wrapping yourself up was introduced, bandages have become an even bigger deal. If you’re able to take cover for more than a couple of seconds, the sliver of HP a single bandage replenishes really can make the difference. This mission is here to get you into the habit of using them.
