When you take a week off PUBG Mobile content, coming back to week 5 makes it feel like the earth stood still for a while. Seasons typically pass by like nothing, but after feeling that we reached the half-way point too soon, the reveal of the week 5 mission list feels a little long in the tooth.

Aid Mission: Pick up Frag Grenade in 32 matches in Classic mode

Get your pineapples, everybody. This week’s aid mission is a simple case of picking up some of the most versatile weapons in the game. The frag grenade is essential to late-game battles. They can displace campers, dislodge snipers, and, if you’re lucky, confuse someone enough that they straight-up dive on top of a ‘nade that had virtually no chance of taking them down in the first place.

Frag grenades aren’t uncommon. In fact, they’re pretty common. But unlike most other aid missions, the objective isn’t to pick up 32 grenades whenever you please. It’s to pick up at least one grenade between you in 32 matches. That’s a lot of matches.

Choice Mission

  1. Land on any rooftop in School (Erangel) 3 times in Classic mode
    • School is back in session. Aside from what I’ll call the science block, School only has the one major rooftop. You can land easily, but don’t expect to get out without a fight.
  2. Land on any rooftop in Ha Tinh (Sanhok) 3 times in Classic mode
    • Ha Tinh is packed with medium sized buildings. A great place to clear this mission with ease.
  3. Land on any rooftop in Water Treatment (Miramar) 3 times in Classic mode
    • So long as you don’t land in the Water Treatment plant, sticking a landing here should be fairly easy.

Open 4 Air Drops in Classic mode

Usually reserved for Elite Pass players — because money means experience, of course — opening four airdrops in Classic mode isn’t an easy task. In fact, it’s one of the harder, more dangerous aspects of the game.

One quick tip to beating the rest of the lobby to an air drop is to have patience. Even if you think you’re the first there, you can never be certain. Instead, hang back and observe the drop for a good 10-20 seconds. Pick off anyone who then attempts to poach it. If you get there late, wait for the rest to finish duking it out and then finish off whoever is left.

If you want to chance it the professional way, make a path of smoke grenades as you go in for the grab. You can even drive a car up to it through the smoke to act as a not only a fast way in and out, but to use as additional cover while you get the goods.

Kill 10 enemies with SKS in any mode

The SKS is what’s known as a marksman rifle. Not quite a sniper, and not quite an assault rifle. What this means is that the SKS is perfectly suited to those who like to slap a scope onto the assault rifles and chip away at targets from afar.

Slot a 4x scope onto this weapon and you’ll be perfectly poised to take down targets attempting to run in away from the circle.

Pick up Military Vest (Lv. 3) in 10 matches in Classic mode

This mission should go hand-in-hand with the air drop mission. For a time, at least. Military Vests are a common sight in air drops, so pulling that mission off should get you part of the way through this one, too. For a rest, high tier loot locations are a good bet for finding this sought-after piece of equipment. Failing that, you might be able to loot it from defeated enemies later in the game.

Kill 20 enemies with UMP45

The UMP45 is an iconic SMG that often proves popular in just about any action game it appears in. Lik other SMGs, the UMP45 is the perfect tool for quickly tearing through targets at close/medium range.

The reason for this gun’s popularity boils down to its shockingly low recoil. With a foregrip and compensator slapped on for good measure, it can outshine the more powerful Tommy Gun given how much easier it is to control.

Getting kills with this beast of a weapon should just boil down to ensuring you use in the correct context. Don’t go challenging a far-off AR user with this thing. That’s in. Keep it close, stick to buildings and alleyways, and (literally) go to town.

Survive for a total of 100 minutes in Classic mode

This one doesn’t need explaining whatsoever. There’s no strategy to this. Surviving to the end of a match doesn’t mean you get this done any faster. Time doesn’t work like that. So rather than dish out tips to help you live longer than five minutes, here’s a lesson in self care.

Wiping out at the start of a match shouldn’t rile you up. It doesn’t matter. Whether you kick the bucket five minutes in or 30, this mission will still complete after you’ve played for 100 minutes.

Choice Mission

  1. Kill 18 enemies with the P90 in Arena
    • Like the UMP45, the P90 excels in close-combat. Lucky for you, Arena is all about that. Fire this from the hip.
  2. Kill 4 enemies with Win94 in Classic mode
    • A pseudo-sniper that doesn’t see enough love these days. The Win94 doesn’t even need a scope to shine in the opening moments. Just grab it and pick off anyone fleeing their starting spot.
  3. Deal 4000 damage in the Library of the Arena
    • The new Library map is the perfect spot to rack up crazy amounts of damage. And you don’t even have to do it all at once. Just play however you like. It’s meant to be fun.

Deal 1500 damage in a single match in Arena

1500 damage in an Arena mode like TDM, given players can regenerate a little over time, means around 12-13 kills in most cases. That being said, you’re often not the only one firing at a single target.

A mission like this requires you to be proactive. Arena can get hectic. Playing aggressively is going to be the only way to get this done before one side reaches the kill count. The objective-based nature of Domination mode might be a better option. Players tend to group here, making it something of a shooting alley.

Carry teammates in a vehicle for a total of 10,000 meters in Classic mode

The classic PUBG Mobile road trip. No season is complete without a lap around Erangel. It’s an easy enough mission to pull off if you’re squading up with friends, but you’re unlikely to find strangers willing to drive around aimlessly for a while. If you’re not looking to make some new friends, you might just have to settle for getting this done passively as you play throughout the season.
