Persona 5 Strikers is only a few weeks away, so it’s time to rally the Phantom Thieves together for one last adventure. Developed by Omega Force and P-Studio, Strikers is a radically different style of game than the smash-hit JRPG Persona 5. Combat is no-longer turn-based, but a mix of the army smashing battles of the Dynasty Warriors franchise and the strategic combos of Final Fantasy VII: Remake. However, that doesn’t mean you wont be unleashing the devastating power of your team’s personas.

Similar to the previous games in the franchise, players will have an SP meter that determines how many times you can cast a persona’s magic attacks, debuffs, or support abilities. When you start out Persona 5 Strikers everyone in your party will have a pretty limited amount, which can make some of the fights pretty challenging. Given exploiting a foe’s weakness via specific elemental attacks is core to defeating some of the tougher foes, you’ll want to manage your SP throughout the various Jails. Here’s how to restore your SP and increase it as you progress through Persona 5 Strikers.

How to Restore SP

There are a few ways to restore your SP in Persona 5 Strikers, two of which can be done while you are either in a Jail or during a battle. The third is more or less exploiting the way Strikers doesn’t implement a timed deadline like the original Persona 5. Your main method of restoring SP will be using items that can either be found, cooked, or purchased throughout the world. Typically, you will end up cooking a lot of your SP items like Leblanc Curry since the ingredients are fairly cheap and you’ll gain access to this recipe after the first Jail is completed.

You will also find other recipes that restore your SP as you explore the various cities you visit. These recipes can be obtained by purchasing them at food vendors or via Sophia’s Shop for an inflated price. There are also some random dungeon items and medicine that restore SP, but these are pretty hard to come by. On Normal difficulty, I like to have around 5-10 SP restoring items, as using your persona’s abilities is key to defeating most of the bosses.

Alternatively, you can also unlock various Bonds which will either increase your party’s overall SP or potentially refill some of it after a battle. The latter is called Oracle Recovery and is one of the first Bonds I recommend grabbing. It may cost 15 Bond Points, but being able to get a small free boost to HP and SP after every fight is great for when you’re either farming for experience or low on items. Another good one is Master Chef which lets you make more food with better effects. Finally, SP Boost is a cheap, static boost you can increase to raise your entire party’s SP.

All that being said, the easiest way to refill your SP meter is literally just leaving the Jail and then returning. See, in Strikers time won’t move forward until you reach specific story moments. This means there’s no penalty for leaving and returning to a dungeon outside of respawning the basic enemies (not bosses). When you return, the entire party will have full HP and SP, letting you forge ahead. Since you can spawn at various checkpoints, I strongly recommend doing this anytime you use a lot of SP during a big battle or if you know there’s a boss ahead. Save all of your SP restoring items for when you are actually in a fight, not heading to one. You’ll save a lot of headaches and money with this method!
