It just wouldn’t be MHW without a silly weapon once in a while — like the Strong Ale and Master Ale Dual Blades available from the “Seeing is Believing” event quest. The drunken daggers are available now for all Iceborne players as part of the Sizzling Spice summer fest in the latest Monster Hunter. And you might want to know how to get them. Luckily it’s not a terribly difficult weapon to nab or upgrade in MHW. So nearly everyone and anyone can make themselves tipsy while they topple a Tigrex. Let’s take a look at the requirements and the steps you’ll be taking in Seeing is Believing!

Unlike fellow new event quest, “Fetching Light Pearls,” this battle requires some real combat. And it’s a little bit trickier than “Camoflawed,” another new mission with this update. You need to do battle with a standard Tigrex. Though there isn’t much actual “hunting” involved. This battle takes place in the standard arena (not the Special Arena where captured monsters go). So you have some room to move around, but don’t have to sprint all across a map to find your target.
Tigrex shouldn’t be taken lightly, though, even by veteran players. The slithery bum slides across its belly at high speeds. It’s very easy to get caught in its charging attacks and stunned. It doesn’t have any other elemental or status effects, though. That makes this one of the rare fights where we might recommend the Temporal Mantle in Master Rank — instead of options like the Fireproof or Waterproof Mantles.
Theoretically, you can get everything you need in just one run of Seeing is Believing, too. Completing the quest will earn you at least one copy of the Spirited Canteen Ticket. And you only need one to craft the muggy Dual Blades. A number of other Tigrex materials are also required, but there’s a chance you already have those. If not, you might want to consider doing the quest again. It’s not a bad way to quickly encounter a Tigrex! Plus you will want a second Spirited Canteen Ticket to upgrade Strong Ale into Master Ale: the complete version of the weapon.
Like most event quests, it’s possible for two tickets to drop in a single run. That’s especially true if you burn a Lucky Voucher before entering. However, the odds are somewhat low, so there’s a good chance you’re going into the arena more than once.
Circling back to the mission: it’s quite simple to start. You just need to make sure you’ve hit MR3 (the third level of Master Rank, a.k.a. the early hours of the Iceborne expansion content) in order to begin. Then mosey on over the the assignment board and choose events. You’ll find Seeing is Believing fairly early in the list. Select it and head out.
You can also take a full set of Sizzling Spice armor with you. The quest isn’t tremendously easy, but it’s not the hardest thing in the world, either. And wearing the armor is an easy way to up your chances of a Sizzling Spice VIP ticket. The same goes for any seasonal event armor, depending on when you’re reading this, of course. Good luck, hunters!
