The MHW “Kadachi Twins” quest is here, giving players a chance to craft the Kadachi Scarf layered armor. It’s a great-looking item to really make your hunter stand out from the crowd — with a fluffy, plushy Tobi-Kadachi wrapped around their neck. Monster Hunter continues to impress on the cosmetic front, and the new Kadachi Scarf item is no exception! Of course you need to actually craft the item to achieve this new look. And that’s where the Kadachi Twins event quest comes in. Lets take a look at what you need to prepare for this hunt.
As the name implies, Kadachi Twins is a MHW mission against both forms of Tobi-Kadachi: the standard flavor and a Viper Tobi-Kadachi subspecies. These are early and mid-game monsters, respectively, and should pose little threat to experienced players. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be careful! Quick completions are key to getting your layered armor as quickly as possible. And in this case, that means coming prepared with the right equipment.

Both versions of the monster charge up static electricity within their fur to deal Thunderblight. This MHW status ailment frankly sucks… It makes players more susceptible to getting stunned for the duration. And getting stunned will get you killed — especially combined with fast acting poison. That’s where Viper Tobi-Kadachi comes in, as this subspecies can launch damaging barbs. The attack deals the unique status ailment “Noxious Poison.”
Noxious Poison works very similar to the standard version. You take damage over time, leaving red, recoverable health on your hit point bar. You can recover this damage quickly with Astera Jerky. Otherwise you can use Herbal Medicine, Antidote, a Cleanser Booster, and/or Herbal Powder to clear the effect altogether. And I seriously recommend you do. Noxious Poison is a special damage type exclusive to just three monsters: Pink Rathian, Gold Rathian, and Viper Tobi-Kadachi. Its special effect is that it deals a lot more damage than normal poison. If you’re not careful, even experienced hunters can get chewed up by it, especially if you’re stunned.
The Level 3 Stun Resistance skill will help make Kadachi Twins a breeze. It won’t negate the Thunderblight, of course, but it will stop its effect and protect you from stuns in general. That frees you up to focus on damage and clearing poison. Alternatively, you can raise your Thunder Resistance to 20 in order to cancel out Thunderblight naturally. This won’t stop normal stuns, but it will protect you from the blight and reduce the elemental damage you take. Again: this frees you up to kill quickly.
Level 3 Poison Resistance will make you immune to the most viscous Viper Tobi-Kadachi attack. However, even Noxious Poison is so easy to clear quickly that it’s less of a priority. The one wrinkle is that Kadachi Twins takes place in the normal Arena. That means you cannot restock supplies. Consider bringing extra Antidotes, Blue Mushrooms, and Antidote Herbs if you’re having trouble. And equip them to your radial menu! This will allow you to auto-craft the items when you run out — even if you’re stunned, on the ground, or otherwise incapacitated. Herbal Medicine and the Cleaner Booster are also good for group play.
Since you can’t resupply, the Health Booster is also a useful gadget. It will let you heal indefinitely — as long as it’s off cooldown — without needing consumables. Combine it with the Master Rank Lunastra armor for a really great support build. This includes both Wide-Range and Tool Specialist. That way you can play with a group and get through even quicker, without worrying about strangers dying on you so much.
For your trouble, you get one special ticket or more, allowing you to craft the Kadachi Scarf layered armor. And honestly? I don’t foresee you having much trouble with this quest. It’s hardly the most difficult MHW event quest on the block, you badass you! Happy hunting out there.
