Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a third-person action-adventure game developed by Ember Lab. Available on PS4, PS5, and PC (Epic Games Store), Kena: Bridge of Spirits is set in a gorgeous world filled with all types of fascinating characters. You play Kena, a third-generation spirit guide who is tasked with helping restless souls move on into the afterlife. Unfortunately, Kena’s home is being ravaged by overwhelming corruption and it’s up to her to fight back this darkness. However, many may be unsure whether it’s worth your time to pick up Kena or how long this game actually is.
How Long is Kena: Bridge of Spirits
On average, it should take around 9-12 hours to finish Kena: Bridge of Spirits’ main campaign. Assuming you don’t bother with any additional side quests or hunting down collectibles, you shouldn’t need to worry about spending a ludicrous amount of time playing this game. For those who prefer to do everything a game offers, you’re roughly looking at around 20-25 hours depending on how efficient you are with finding all the hidden secrets in each portion of the world. While a lot of the puzzles are pretty simple, there are a variety of Rot and collectibles tucked away from the main path. There’s also no real way to track where you’ve found every collectible in-game, so be prepared to spend a lot of time scouring every corner to ensure that all items are found.
Additionally, Kena: Bridge of Spirits has no New Game+ or multiplayer component, so if hunting for secrets isn’t your thing then you’re looking at about 9-12 hours of gameplay. Now, this isn’t a bad thing, but if you’re looking for a game that will last longer you might want to wait until Kena goes on sale.

What Is Kena: Bridge of Spirits
For the unfamiliar, Kena: Bridge of Spirits is an adventure game that harkens back to the PS2/Gamecube era of platformers. Set in a semi-open world, you will explore a variety of locations while attempting to stop a twisted corruption from taking over your home. During the journey, you will encounter a number of characters, but none are more important than the Rot. These little critters are Kena’s companions and will follow her around as she explores. While you will use them to solve puzzles and unearth collectibles, these goobers are also quite helpful in combat.
Battles are set in real-time, with players whacking horririfc tree monsters with Kena’s staff. You have your typical light and heavy attacks, but Kena can also use the Rot to bind foes, powerful weapons, or recover health. It’s an interesting system that rewards those who go out of their way to find more Rot during their journey. If you’re looking for a more traditional adventure game that isn’t weighed down by a lot of typical open-world game conventions, consider giving Kena: Bridge of Spirits a try!
