How to Increase Your Maximum Health in Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a third-person action-adventure game developed by Ember Lab. Available on PS4, PS5, and PC (Epic Games Store), Kena: Bridge of Spirits is set in a gorgeous world filled with all types of fascinating characters. You play Kena, a third-generation spirit guide who is tasked with helping restless souls move on into the afterlife. Unfortunately, Kena’s home is being ravaged by overwhelming corruption and it’s up to her to fight back this darkness. Similar to other action-adventure games like Immortals: Fenyx Rising, combat can be pretty unforgiving at times. This makes it important that you increase Kena’s health, ensuring that you can survive some of the tougher battles down the road.

How to Increase Your Health

In order to increase Kena’s health, you will need to seek out meditation points that are scattered throughout the world. If you are just starting out, you won’t hit your first meditation spot until about 2-3 hours into Kena’s main story. After you ride the elevator up to the top of the mountain and meet with Rusu, you will find a meditation spot overlooking the valley below. This will be indicated by a glowing blue circle, which your Rot will hang around if you get close enough. Approaching the circle and pressing the Interact button/key will cause Kena to sit down and silently reflect upon her journey. During this, her health will increase and she will continue to sit there until you decide to leave.

This is the only way to increase Kena’s health, so finding meditation spots will be vital. During my time with the game so far, I have found that meditation points are typically after big boss battles or just tucked away in secret areas of the world. The former is the far more common method, as a lot of locations are simply either sealed off when you arrive or require a specific power to progress. Because of this, I wouldn’t worry too much about actually hunting them down as a lot, especially early on, won’t be available until you defeat a certain boss.

However, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep your eyes out for meditation spots while roaming the world. Kena: Bridge of Spirits has quite a few hidden throughout the world. One of the earliest you can find is in the Forbidden Forest when you’re tasked with restoring four shrines. Go to the southern river and follow it until you reach a small platform you can climb on. Across from you will be a torch you can ignite by shooting the crystal with your bow which will cause additional platforms to raise from the water. Following them will lead you to a small grove where you can find a meditation area.

You will find meditation spots like this hidden throughout Kena’s world. Because of this, I always recommend scouring every inch of a location and making mental notes of places you cannot visit right away. Since this is the only way to increase your health, it’s definitely worth backtracking a bit.
