Halo Infinite Fracture: Tenrai Event Guide – How to Unlock the Samurai Armor

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer has officially gone live, so grab your Battle Rifle, stock up on Plasma Grenades, and hop in your Ghost! Released several weeks earlier than the campaign, Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer is free-to-play and available on Xbox and PC.

Along with access to the various maps and modes, this online component also offers a nice amount of customization options for players’ Spartans. One of the most striking is the samurai armor that’s tied to the new Fracture: Tenrai event.

How to Get the Yoroi Armor Core

In order to unlock the Yoroi armor core, you need to hit level 5 in the Fracture: Tenrai event. This is done by completing Weekly Challenges associated with this event. You can tell which of the challenges are tied to Fracture: Tenrai by the orange ribbon on the left side of the challenge. These will be exclusively tied to the new Fiesta playlist found in the Multiplayer menu. Keep in mind, purchasing armor in the shop like the Chonmage Armor Set will not unlock the Yoroi Armor Core for you early. The only way to obtain this armor is by hitting Level 5, as it will unlock the core. Beyond that level are various cosmetics for this core, allowing you to truly embrace being a futuristic samurai warrior.

Original Guide – 11/18/2021

If you’re already concerned about grinding out yet another battle pass, Noah Benesch, Marketing Lead for Halo on PC, has clarified that everyone will be given event specific challenges in addition to your normal weekly ones. What’s important to note, however, is upon completing one of these event challenges, you’ll be rewarded with both a full event pass rank and also earn progress towards your primary battle pass. In this case that means you’ll rank up both your Fracture: Tenrai and Heroes of Reach battle passes at the same time. Just keep in mind that it doesn’t work in reverse. Normal battle pass challenges do not progress the event one.

More Halo Infinite:

There will also be a special Fracture: Tenrai playlist when the event goes live, but the modes are currently unknown. As for that gorgeous armor, it’s unknown if the armor core itself will be available early in the Fracture: Tenrai reward tiers.

Given that armor cores serve as a backdrop to build your personal Spartan around, I imagine the base core will be unlocked early on. You can tell there are more pieces of samurai tied to this armor core because the press photo of the Yoroi armor is different than what’s on display in Halo Infinite’s armory. This means there will more than likely be a base version we’re required to unlock before various flourishes are scattered throughout the event reward tiers.

I will update this guide as soon as we know exactly how to unlock the Yoroi armor core, along with what tiers the various other armor pieces become available. Halo Infinite is currently free to all players on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Microsoft Store.
