Genshin Impact Thoma Hangout Guide – How to Get All Endings, Right Choices

Time to go on a romantic housekeeping date with the new Pyro husbando.

Good news for those who can’t wait to see more of Thoma in Genshin Impact: the Inazuma fixer and Retainer of the Kamisato clan has already got his own Hangout Event. “A Housekeeper’s Daily Chores” will teach you all about cleaning, organizing classes, and feeding stray dogs. If you reach the correct ending, you may even walk away with a special lucky charm.

Of course, we want to unlock every possible Hangout Event ending, good or bad. If you’re looking for some help, you can follow the steps below to reach every story outcome with ease.

Thoma Hangout Requirements

Unfortunately, if you haven’t done the latest part of the Genshin Impact main storyline, you can’t hang out with Thoma just yet. Completing Archon Quest Chapter II Act III: “Omnipresence Over Mortals” is the only requirement for this Hangout, but it does mean that you’ll have to travel to Inazuma and follow the Archon Quests for quite some time.

Furthermore, Thoma’s Hangout Event requires two Story Keys. If you don’t have enough, you can complete Daily Quests to get more.

How to Get All Thoma Hangout Endings

Like most Genshin Impact Hangout events, Thoma’s Hangout has six possible outcomes. None of them seem particularly bad, so you’re in for some pretty cheerful dates.

The introduction isn’t very long, so be ready to make your first choice soon after the Hangout Event starts. Pay special attention to the final ending in particular, as this one can only be reached by replying negatively to the very first question.

Thoma Hangout Ending 1 “Popular Class” – Good

  1. Go to the Kamisato Estate.
  2. Agree with Thoma.
  3. Say that you prefer indoor activities.
  4. Visit Komore Teahouse in Inazuma City.
  5. When Thoma asks about promotion ideas, suggest spreading the word.
  6. Collect Lavender Melon, Fowl, and Flour (one serving per item type). If you already have these items, you can talk to Thoma straight away.
  7. Advertise the housekeeping course to the citizens of Inazuma City.

  3. Say that you prefer indoor activities.
  4. Suggest that you keep it within the Yashiro Commission.
  5. Complete the Housekeeping Challenge within the time limit (unlocks a hidden achievement). You can clear the bushes using your Normal Attacks. It’s a good idea to use Thoma himself, as his attacks are pretty fast (he’ll be available as a trial character). Then interact with the water bucket next to the small pool and water the nearby trees.
  6. Wait until the following day (set the in-game timer to 8:00) to attend Thoma’s class.

  6. After hearing about the ninja dog, suggest you and Thoma go see it together.
  7. Defeat the Hilichurls and interact with the ninja dog.
  8. Go back to Kamisato Estate, then interact with the ninja dog again.

Thoma Hangout Ending 4 “New Clothes!” – Good

Thoma Hangout Ending 6 “The Housekeeper’s Other Side” – Neutral

  1. Go to the Kamisato Estate.
  2. Do not agree with Thoma.
  3. Talk to a member of the Yashiro Commission. It’s a nearby NPC called Kiyoe.

What Are Hangout Events?

MiHoYo describes Hangout Events as “choice-driven Story Quests.” Put simply, these are like visual novels or a Choose Your Own Adventure style system.

Each Hangout Event requires two story keys to unlock. Once you do so, however, you can replay the Hangout as many times as you’d like, searching for different endings.

During the Hangout, you’ll need to make choices between different dialogue options as the event progresses. Each character has a Heartbeat Value that you need to keep track of. Let the five hearts drop to zero, and your Hangout may end in failure.

All of the possible story points you can experience is tracked in a quest progression map so you can see where your decisions have changed things. You can even select specific nodes and jump to that point in the story. There’s no reason you have to start the entire Hangout over again each time. The game also provides a brief explanation of that point so you can jog your memory.

Is This a Romance System?

Not in the traditional sense, no. These are “dates,” however, and they can go well or they can go poorly.

Does the Traveler’s Gender Matter?

It does not! Some players were worried that MiHoYo might change or lock certain Hangout Events based on which Traveler you selected at the start, but this has thankfully been debunked. We believe the stories will play out the exact same way regardless of which Traveler you’re playing as.

How Do I Get Story Keys?

After reaching Adventure Rank 26, you’ll gain access to story keys. At that point you’ll earn one story key for every eight daily commissions you complete. That means you can, at most, earn one key every two days. Just make sure to claim them from your commissions tab and keep in mind that you can only hold three keys at once.

These items allow you to unlock one story quest assuming you meet the appropriate Adventure Rank requirements. As we mentioned before, these story quests are exclusive to 5-Star characters. Hangout Events are a new way to use story keys, though they’ll require two keys to unlock.
