Where to Find Starconch
If you are looking to farm Starconch you have one easy location to visit and one where it’s a bit harder to gather what you need. The largest cluster of them is found in the mountains around Yaoguang Shoal. If this area isn’t unlocked on your map just yet, don’t worry, keep playing the story and eventually you’ll be asked to make the trek south to Liyue. The other most obvious place to farm Starconch is near the Guyun Stone Forest, though you’ll need to do some island they’re spread throughout which makes for a slower farm time.
There are 41 Starconch along the Shoal alone with an additional 24 in the Stone Forest. If you really stretch yourself and get every single node on the map, you can walk away with 71 Starconch per refresh. How quickly you accrue the resource ultimately depends on how much time you’re willing to spend getting the harder to reach nodes.
You can also purchase give Starconch from Boli in Jiyue Harbor. You can find him at Wanyou Boutique. He charges 1,000 Mora for each.
Remember, the conches will respawn around every two to three real-world days. Because of this, I recommend hitting both areas areas. This will maximize your farm, reducing the amount of time spent waiting for them to respawn.
I give all the credit in the world to those behind this superb interactive Genshin Impact map below.
At the time of writing this, Starconch is only used for character ascensions. Specifically, one character ascension: Tartaglia. You’ll also need three of them for a present to Changchang during the Lone Ship in Guyun quest.
It takes 168 Starconch to reach Ascension 6 for a single character, so I recommend you start farming early. Even if you don’t have Tartaglia right now, there’s always a chance you could pick him up later down the road.
It’s possible that the Starconch will become more useful once the anticipated third region releases. We will update our guide with any new information or if changes are made to this crafting material. There may end up being more resource nodes located in Inazuma and if there are, we’ll update our map.
