Genshin Impact Sayu Hangout Guide – How to Get All Endings, Right Choices

Sayu has to assassinate you… So let’s hang out!

It’s been a while, but Genshin Impact is back with new Hangout Events. If you want to spend more time with Anemo ninja Sayu (assuming she manages to stay awake), then this is your chance.

The Sayu Hangout Event “Yoohoo Art: Seichou no Jutsu” takes place in Inazuma. Like every good dating sim, it features a bunch of different endings. Some are good, some are bad, but they all start with the awkward realization that Sayu has received orders to kill you. Let’s see how we should handle that.

Sayu Hangout Requirements

You can unlock Sayu’s Hangout event by clicking the Events tab and spending two Story Keys. If you don’t have enough Story Keys, just collect a few more by completing Daily Quests. But beware; you also need to have completed the “Omnipresence Over Mortals” Archon Quest before you can start this Hangout.

This Hangout Event has six possible outcomes. To unlock every ending, you can follow the storylines as described below. If a dialogue option or action isn’t mentioned, it means that it doesn’t influence the outcome.

As the first part of Sayu’s Hangout Event is the same for every outcome, you only have to do it once. You will start your adventure in Inazuma City, where you’ll have to search for our ninja first. There’s quite a lot of dialogue after that, which will ultimately take you to a Shrine Maiden. From that point onwards, you’ll have to pick the correct options to unlock all of the following Hangout Event endings.

Sayu Hangout Ending 1 “Everything in Moderation” – Bad

  1. Follow Sayu and ‘observe’ the wooden barrels until you find her. She’s in the small barrel next to the staircase.
  2. Talk to Sayu.
  3. Visit the Shrine Maiden.
  4. Accept her offer by saying: “Thank you, that would certainly help.”
  5. When speaking to Sayu in Chinju Forest, ask her if growing taller is what she really cares about.
  6. When Sayu asks for your advice, tell her that sleep alone isn’t enough to make someone grow taller.
  7. Go to Kiminami Restaurant in Inazuma City and start binge eating.
  8. When Sayu wonders why she isn’t growing yet, ask her if she still wishes to continue.

Sayu Hangout Ending 2 “Like Soaring Through the Skies” – Good

  7. Go to Kiminami Restaurant in Inazuma City and start binge eating.
  8. Suggest that eating like this might have a negative effect on Sayu’s health.

  10. Meet up with Sayu on the mountain.

  7. Defeat the slimes and visit Sayu’s napping spots.

Sayu Hangout Ending 4 “With the Trees” – Good

What Are Hangout Events?

MiHoYo describes Hangout Events as “choice-driven Story Quests.” Put simply, these are like visual novels or a Choose Your Own Adventure style system.

Each Hangout Event requires two story keys to unlock. Once you do so, however, you can replay the Hangout as many times as you’d like, searching for different endings.

During the Hangout, you’ll need to make choices between different dialogue options as the event progresses. Each character has a Heartbeat Value that you need to keep track of. Let the five hearts drop to zero, and your Hangout may end in failure.

All of the possible story points you can experience is tracked in a quest progression map so you can see where your decisions have changed things. You can even select specific nodes and jump to that point in the story. There’s no reason you have to start the entire Hangout over again each time. The game also provides a brief explanation of that point so you can jog your memory.

Is This a Romance System?

Not in the traditional sense, no. These are “dates,” however, and they can go well or they can go poorly.

Does the Traveler’s Gender Matter?

It does not! Some players were worried that MiHoYo might change or lock certain Hangout Events based on which Traveler you selected at the start, but this has thankfully been debunked. We believe the stories will play out the exact same way regardless of which Traveler you’re playing as.

How Do I Get Story Keys?

After reaching Adventure Rank 26, you’ll gain access to story keys. At that point you’ll earn one story key for every eight daily commissions you complete. That means you can, at most, earn one key every two days. Just make sure to claim them from your commissions tab and keep in mind that you can only hold three keys at once.

These items allow you to unlock one story quest assuming you meet the appropriate Adventure Rank requirements. As we mentioned before, these story quests are exclusive to 5-Star characters. Hangout Events are a new way to use story keys, though they’ll require two keys to unlock.
