Genshin Impact Noelle Hangout Guide – How to Get All Endings, Right Choices

Noelle is strong, strong.

It’s fun to go questing with your favorite Genshin Impact characters, but what are you supposed to do after you finish that? Most characters don’t feature heavily in the main campaign more than once. The highest rarity characters get their own story quests which you can undertake, but 4-Star characters have been left out to dry. At least, until now. With Patch 1.4, MiHoYo has introduced new Hangout Events which feature some of your favorite 4-Star characters. In this guide, we take a look at Noelle’s hangout event and show you how to unlock each ending.

Noelle Hangout Event Requirements

To unlock Noelle’s Hangout Event you’ll need two story keys. You’ll also must be at least Adventure Rank 26 or above and be far enough into the main quest to have completed the Archon Quest “Prologue: Act III – Song of the Dragon and Freedom.”

How to Get All Noelle Hangout Endings

In Noelle’s hangout event there are six total endings. None of them are explicitly bad endings. A few of them are neutral or leave Noelle a bit sad, but there’s no absolute failure (short of running out of hearts) like with Barbara. Even though you can jump to any point in the hangout questline, it can be surprisingly hard to pick the right dialogue options so we’re here with answers!

It’s worth noting that there are only a few dialogue options that actually shape how events unfold. Everything in between will simply affect whether Noelle loses any hearts. To be fair, we haven’t managed to make her lose hearts during our playthrough of all five endings. Unlocking all six will take you around and hour and a half.

Let’s kick things off with the ideal ending, the one which ends up with you basically taking Noelle on a date.

Noelle Hangout Ending 1 – Closest to a Date

  1. When Noelle asks for guidance on her Chivalric Training, offer to help.
  2. Tell her she lacks rest.
  3. When Beatrice asks for help say you’ll do your best.
  4. Say that gifts convey our intentions.
  5. Choose the bottle as a gift.
  6. It doesn’t matter which date spot you recommend.

Noelle Hangout Ending 2 – Good

  1. When Noelle asks for guidance on her Chivalric Training, offer to help.
  2. Tell her she lacks rest.
  3. When Beatrice asks for help say you’ll do your best.
  4. Say it’s the thought that counts and play out the rest of the hangout.

Noelle Hangout Ending 3 – Good

  1. When Noelle asks for guidance on her Chivalric Training, offer to help.
  2. Tell her she lacks strength.
  3. Tell her she lacks real-world fighting experience.
    1. It doesn’t seem to matter how well you do. I failed 2/3 challenges and still kept going.

Noelle Hangout Ending 4 – Good

  1. When Noelle asks for guidance on her Chivalric Training, offer to help.
  2. Tell her she lacks strength.
  3. Tell her she needs even more strength.

Noelle Hangout Ending 5 – Neutral

  1. When Noelle asks for guidance on her Chivalric Training, tell her she doesn’t have to be a knight.
  2. When you get to Mondstadt and start touring Alois around, keep choosing “Noelle’s way of showing hospitality.”

Noelle Hangout Ending 6 – Neutral/Bad

  1. When Noelle asks for guidance on her Chivalric Training, tell her she doesn’t have to be a knight.
  2. When you get to Mondstadt and start touring Alois around, keep choosing “Made especially for you.”

What Are Hangout Events?

MiHoYo describes Hangout Events as “choice-driven Story Quests.” Put simply, these are like visual novels or a Choose Your Own Adventure style system.

Each Hangout Event requires two story keys to unlock. Once you do so, however, you can replay the Hangout as many times as you’d like, searching for different endings.

During the Hangout, you’ll need to make choices between different dialogue options as the event progresses. Each character has a Heartbeat Value that you need to keep track of. Let the five hearts drop to zero, and your Hangout may end in failure.

All of the possible story points you can experience is tracked in a quest progression map so you can see where your decisions have changed things. You can even select specific nodes and jump to that point in the story. There’s no reason you have to start the entire Hangout over again each time. The game also provides a brief explanation of that point so you can jog your memory.

Is This a Romance System?

Not in the traditional sense, no. These are “dates,” however, and they can go well or they can go poorly.

Does the Traveler’s Gender Matter?

It does not! Some players were worried that MiHoYo might change or lock certain Hangout Events based on which Traveler you selected at the start, but this has thankfully been debunked. We believe the stories will play out the exact same way regardless of which Traveler you’re playing as.

How Do I Get Story Keys?

After reaching Adventure Rank 26, you’ll gain access to story keys. At that point you’ll earn one story key for every eight daily commissions you complete. That means you can, at most, earn one key every two days. Just make sure to claim them from your commissions tab and keep in mind that you can only hold three keys at once.

These items allow you to unlock one story quest assuming you meet the appropriate Adventure Rank requirements. As we mentioned before, these story quests are exclusive to 5-Star characters. Hangout Events are a new way to use story keys, though they’ll require two keys to unlock.
