Fortnite Season 8, Week 7 is here! This time around you’ll need to visit pirate camps and ride ziplines. As per usual, here’s a note from Jordan who’s lost in Tomato Temple.
Scholars have long debated the true meaning of “Bubulae Bulla’s Prophecy,” a short work discovered in the ruins of a western European temple dating back to the first century AD. While many translations of the text exist, the most agreed-upon version is as follows:
“And lo! As the single fire burns, as was foretold in the parchments passed down from father, to daughter, to son, to daughter, and then to father again, the truth is laid bare: When the eighth season ripens; in its seventh week, the zipline challenge lay. Three camps of soiled pillage must be tread upon; seven chests of avarice explored. Five districts marked red by the sacrifice. The rain of violence. The tool as a blade.”
Could it be, that some intelligence from beyond the stars gave Bubulae Bulla transcendental information, which somehow correlates exactly to the challenges contained within Week 7 of Fortnite Battle Royale’s Season 8 Battle Pass? Ancient alien theorists say: It’s possible. Here’s what you’ll be doing over the weekend:
- Deal 100 damage with a pickaxe to opponents [Free | 5 Battle Stars]
- Visit Junk Junction and The Block in a single match
- Visit Pleasant Park and Dusty Divot in a single match
- Visit Happy Hamlet and Snobby Shores in a single match [Free | 5 Battle Stars total]
- Visit Pleasant Park and Dusty Divot in a single match
- Visit 3 pirate camps in a single match [Free | 10 Battle Stars]
- Deal 500 damage to players from above [Battle Pass | 5 Battle Stars]
- Search 7 chests at Loot Lake or Snobby Shores [Battle Pass | 5 Battle Stars]
- Deal damage to opposing players while riding a zipline
- Deal damage to opposing players that are riding a zipline [Battle Pass | 10 Battle Stars total]
- Eliminate opponents in 5 different named locations [Battle Pass | 10 Battle Stars]
Deal 100 damage with a pickaxe to opponents
There’s two ways to go about this. The first way, which is what I recommend personally, is to drop as soon as possible and follow the biggest group you see, in the hopes of getting into a pickaxe fight immediately upon landing. You may be killed very quickly, but you should be able to get a few hits and and complete this challenge within a couple matches.
The second way to do this, aka The Coward’s Way™, is to ride the bus all the way to the end of its route, and then kill any AFK players that auto-drop off the bus. Not only does this method prey on the vulnerable, but there’s also no guarantee that your match will actually contain any AFK players, so you might end up wasting a bunch of your time for no benefit. So be brave!
The above map, prepared by hand especially for you, by me, as a gift, should help keep all three stages of this challenge clear in your mind. Remember that you don’t have to land at these locations, but rather simply visit them, and that you can visit the required locations in any order — the ordering shown above is merely a suggestion.
There are seven pirate camps in total, as shown here, but thankfully each camp comes equipped with at least one cannon. This means that you can fire yourself from one camp to another, and actually get this done in very little time at all. I recommend starting at one of the outside camps, firing yourself at the camp to your left, and then shooting to the camp in the center. Why left instead of right? I’ll never tell.
Deal 500 damage to players from above
As Revenge of the Sith taught us, having the high ground is an automatic death sentence. Team Rumble should help with this challenge, as the back half of that mode is all about building tall forts and taking pot shots at the other team. Just make sure you’re as high up in that fort as possible, and be sure to hang on to anything you find that has a scope.
Search 7 chests at Loot Lake or Snobby Shores
Since this week’s v8.30 update raised the chest spawn rate in Team Rumble up to 100 percent, you should be able to knock this out in two matches at the absolute most. Snobby Shores will have a higher density of chests and, depending on your bus route, less competition for opening them than Loot Lake, so I recommend trying there first.
Deal damage to opposing players while riding a zipline, etc
The highest concentrations of ziplines can be found in the polar biome and to the north/east of the volcano, with a an additional smattering immediately northeast of Pleasant Park. All four corners of the map have at least one zipline, however, so you’ve got a good chance of ending up in a Team Rumble circle that’ll help with this challenge. And remember! You don’t need an elimination, or even a worthwhile amount of damage — you just need any damage at all to register on your target to get credit.
Eliminate opponents in 5 different named locations
If you’re playing regularly enough to justify having a Battle Pass, this will inevitably take care of itself. Team Rumble is actually not so great for this one, as most of the eliminations in a TR match happen in one general area, and you need multiple eliminations in different areas. My system for this is to just play some good ol’ fashioned solo matches and let it work out for itself.
Since it’s an odd-numbered week, a bonus Hidden Tier will spawn on the map once you’ve completed all seven of this week’s challenges, in addition to all of the challenges from the previous weeks. You’ll find it on the back of the bunny at the location shown above. Remember that it doesn’t spawn until you’re within a few tiles of it!
