We honestly try to not start every one of these map posts with “wow is it already Week X, boy how time flies,” but wow is it already week five? All this pirate stuff still feels brand new, and yet here we are, halfway through a Battle Pass that hasn’t even lost its new Battle Pass smell (cherries and windex, if you’re curious). This week’s challengements don’t rock the boat in any meaningful way, but they do require the use of a Battle Pass toy to complete fully, so we hope you’ve leveled your pass to at least tier 26. Here’s what you’ll be working on over the weekend:
- Deal 200 damage with scoped weapons to opponents [Free | 5 Battle Stars]
- Search 7 chests at Paradise Palms or Shifty Shafts [Free | 5 Battle Stars]
- Complete a lap of the race track in Happy Hamlet [Free | 10 Battle Stars]
- Get 15 bounces in a single throw with the Bouncy Ball toy [Battle Pass | 5 Battle Stars]
- Gain 50 shields from mushrooms
- Gain 100 shields from small shield potions
- Gain 100 shields from large shield potions [Battle Pass | 5 Battle Stars total]
- Gain 100 shields from small shield potions
- Use a volcano vent, a zipline, and a vehicle in the same match [Battle Pass | 10 Battle Stars]
- Eliminate 3 opponents at pirate camps [Battle Pass | 10 Battle Stars]
Deal 200 damage with scoped weapons to opponents
Team Rumble is the way to get this done. Spend the first entire circle looting for the weapon(s) you need, and then try your ding-dang darndest to do some damage. Thankfully, 200 damage isn’t a whole lot, so you should be able to knock this out in a single match, once you find the right gun. Also, did you know that every time we recommend completing a damage challenge by playing a respawn-enabled LTM, an angel gets their wings? It’s true!
Search 7 chests at Paradise Palms or Shifty Shafts
Bundling this challenge with the damage one above is a great way to save some time. Just drop to whichever location is on your side of the map, and hope the competition isn’t too fierce.
Complete a lap of the race track in Happy Hamlet
There’s a race track in Happy Hamlet, by the way. Just FYI. Apparently the medieval snow town made of rocks and straw has a race track. It’s common knowledge!
Anyway, we’re not sure how long this thing has been there, but you’ll find it at the location on the map above. It’s pretty hard to miss when dropping in — just keep an eye out on the North-left side of town. You may find Ballers in the immediate area, but if not, check the shops on the East side of Happy Hamlet for Driftboards, they tend to have plenty.
Get 15 bounces in a single throw with the Bouncy Ball toy
Assuming that you’ve leveled your Battle Pass to at least tier 26, this one should be easy enough. After equipping the Bouncy Ball toy to one of your emote slots, head to the top of the volcano and toss that sucker off the edge. Assuming you hit enough junk on the way down, you should be able to get 15 bounces in one throw. Staying alive long enough for all 15 bounces to take place is another matter.
Gain 50 shields from mushrooms, etc
The first stage of this challenge will be the most time consuming, since mushrooms grant the least amount of shield of anything in the game. Use the map above to find mushroom-rich environments and chow down, and you should be set. Once you move on to the small shield potion stage, be mindful to not drink large potions before the small ones in your inventory. Since small potions only heal up to 50, drinking a large potion would prevent you from drinking your small ones and getting credit. Honestly though, the second and third stages of this challenge mostly take care of themselves after a few normal matches.
Use a volcano vent, a zipline, and a vehicle in the same match
This is kind of a big ask! You do get 10 Battle Stars for it though, so there’s that at least. Team Rumble (or any respawn-enabled LTM) will give you the best shot at getting this done in a timely fashion. The jungle biome has as many steam vents and ziplines as you could want, so start there. Once you’ve got credit for those, head to one of the areas above in search of a Baller or Driftboard. Good luck!
Eliminate 3 opponents at pirate camps
With seven pirate camps across the island, the odds are pretty good that you’ll be able to kill a few people at one of them during a Team Rumble match. Pirate camps also tend to be hotbeds for activity in vanilla BR, since they usually contain chests, vehicles, and cannons. If you can set up a good ambush at a late-circle camp, or find a scoped weapon and keep eyes on one from afar, you’ll have this done in no-time.
It’s an odd week, which means that a Hidden Tier will appear on the island once you’ve completed all of this week’s challenges, as well as all challenges from previous weeks. You’ll find the tier perched on an island in the middle of a lava flow, just barely to the South-left of a shipping container. Remember that the floating tier icon will be invisible until you’re within a few squares!
