ESO Harrowstorm Gear Sets Guide – Stats, Abilities, Build Recommendations

Elder Scrolls Online: Harrowstorm is out now, and you can kick off the Dark Heart of Skyrim campaign in style when you drop into the two brand new dungeons: Icereach and Unhallowed Grave. Like other new ESO DLCs, Harrowstorm comes with a brand new collection of gear that you can equip your character with for better stats and unique perks.

Getting each gear set is actually pretty easy, just as long as you go to the right dungeon that corresponds to the set you’d like to farm for. If you’re not a fan of farming the same enemy over and over, you’re in luck, because any single boss from that dungeon might drop multiple pieces of gear from the same set. You probably only need to run a dungeon two or three times to complete a set. You can also ask your teammates to trade with you if you land a piece they want, or vice versa.

Disclaimer: You’ll want to at least level up to 50 and attain CP160 before trying to accumulate gear sets from dungeons. The following values are for Legendary (Yellow) versions of each set.

ESO Harrowstorm: Icereach Sets

Hiti’s Hearth Set

  • 2 pieces: Adds 129 Magicka Recovery
  • 3 pieces: Adds 129 Magicka Recovery
  • 4 pieces: Adds 1096 Max Magicka
  • 5 pieces: When you heal yourself or an ally with an ability, gain a Warming Aura for 10 seconds. While in the Warming Aura, you and group members restore 1020 Health every 1 second and reduce the cost of Sprint, Block, and Roll Dodge by 5%. This effect can occur once every 12 seconds.

Hiti’s Hearth is aimed toward healers. You can tell that this is so, based on the additions to Magicka Recovery plus the Warming Aura perk you earn at five pieces. Warming Aura gives you an extra area-of-effect based heal-over-time that can help bolster your existing capacity as a healer.

Titanborn Strength Set

  • 2 pieces: Adds 1487 Physical Penetration
  • 3 pieces: Adds 129 Weapon Damage
  • 4 pieces: Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
  • 5 pieces: Adds 110 Weapon Damage and 1240 Physical Penetration. This bonus doubles to 220 Weapon Damage and 2480 Physical Penetration when you are under 75% Health. This bonus quadruples to 440 Weapon Damage and 4960 Physical Penetration when you are under 50% Health.

Titanborn Strength is aimed toward physical DPS characters who risk fighting at lower health for better DPS values. The added Physical Penetration and Weapon Damage make your attacks punch through armor and deal damage quicker, and the less health you have, the better your bonus to both attributes.

Bani’s Torment Set

  • 2 pieces: Adds 4% Healing Taken
  • 3 pieces: Adds 1206 Max Health
  • 4 pieces: Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
  • 5 pieces: When you taunt a nearby enemy, you tether to them for 5 seconds. While tethered, you apply Major Maim to your enemy, reducing their damage done by 30%, and you gain Major Vitality, increasing your healing taken by 30%. The tether is broken if the enemy moves 8 meters away from you. This effect can occur once every 14 seconds.

Bani’s Torment is made for tanks. The additional Healing Taken attribute boost, as well as bonuses to Max Health and Max Stamina are useful when taking on more aggro in battle. It also has a perk that unlocks at five pieces, that vastly improves your survivability against an opponent you’ve taunted.

Mother Ciannait

  • 1 item: Adds 1096 Max Magicka
  • 2 pieces: While in combat, casting an ability with a cast time or channeling an ability grants you a damage shield that absorbs 3000 damage for 10 seconds. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds.

This mini set is potentially useful for any caster who uses spells with long cast times. It helps by giving you a damage shield every 10 seconds, making it tougher for big damage bursts to hit you as hard.

ESO Harrowstorm: Unhallowed Grave Sets

Aegis Caller Set

  • 2 pieces: Adds 129 Weapon Damage
  • 3 pieces: Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
  • 4 pieces: Adds 129 Weapon Damage
  • 5 pieces: When you deal critical damage with a melee ability, summon a Lesser Aegis for 12 seconds. After 2.5 seconds, the Lesser Aegis spins its blades, dealing 4880 Bleed Damage every 1 second. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds.

Aegis Caller is for melee physical DPS characters. Weapon Damage and Stamina Recovery are nice, but the coolest part of this set is, when you have five pieces equipped, you can summon a Lesser Aegis to fight for you.

Draugrkin’s Grip Set

  • 2 pieces: Adds 1096 Max Magicka
  • 3 pieces: Adds 1487 Spell Penetration
  • 4 pieces: Adds 129 Magicka Recovery
  • 5 pieces: Dealing direct damage to an enemy has a 10% chance to place a ghostly curse on your enemy for 6 seconds. Cursed enemies take 530 extra damage from all your damage abilities. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds.

Draugrkin’s Grip is for a DPS spellcaster. Spell Penetration helps with breaking through armor, and the perk for equipping all five pieces makes you do even more damage with your spells.

Grave Guardian Set

  • 2 pieces: Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
  • 3 pieces: Adds 1206 Max Health
  • 4 pieces: Adds 1206 Max Health
  • 5 pieces: Summon a stone aura while blocking, hardening you and your nearby group members, increasing your Physical and Spell Resistance by 4430.

Grave Guardian is another set for tanks. This one is focused more on increasing your Max Health, but the perk for five pieces equipped bolsters Physical and Spell Resistance for you, while helping protect everybody else in your party.

Kjalnar’s Nightmare Set

  • 1 pieces: Adds 129 Spell Damage
  • 2 pieces: Dealing damage with a Light Attack puts a Bone stack on your enemy for 5 seconds. You can only apply 1 stack every 1 second. At 5 stacks, an undodgeable skeletal hand attacks your enemy after 1 second, knocking them into the air and stunning them for 3 seconds, or dealing 14500 Magic Damage if they cannot be stunned. An enemy that has reached 5 stacks cannot gain Bone stacks for 3 seconds.

Kjalnar’s Nightmare is a mini set that’s designed to help any spellcaster keep control of any one-to-one combat situation. The perk lets you stun your opponent for three seconds, every eight seconds, while spamming light attacks, which is useful if you run out of mana.

ESO Harrowstorm: Cyrodiil Crafting Sets

Critical Riposte Set

  • 2 pieces: Adds 424 Critical Resistance
  • 3 pieces: Adds 1206 Max Health
  • 4 pieces: Adds 424 Critical Resistance
  • 5 pieces: When you take critical damage, you apply Minor Uncertainty and Minor Enervation to the enemy for 4 seconds, reducing their Physical and Spell Critical by 1314 and reducing their Critical Damage by 10%. An enemy can only be affected by your Critical Riposte once every 7 seconds.

With all five pieces equipped, the Critical Riposte set makes your opponent weaker as they attack you. This is good for tanks in PVP, where Critical Resistance is more relevant. It’s craftable in Vlastarus.

Unchained Aggressor Set

  1. 2 pieces: Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
  2. 3 pieces: Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
  3. 4 pieces: Adds 129 Weapon Damage
  4. 4 pieces: Adds 129 Spell Damage
  5. 5 pieces: After Breaking Free, gain Major Berserk for 9 seconds, increasing your damage done by 25%. This effect can occur once every 21 seconds.

With all five pieces equipped, the Unchained Aggressor Set makes physical DPS characters extra powerful after they’ve broken free from an opponent’s stun or binding attack. This set works best in PVP. It’s craftable in Bruma.

Dauntless Combatant Set

  • 2 pieces: Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
  • 3 pieces: Adds 1206 Max Health
  • 4 pieces: Adds 1096 Max Magicka
  • 5 pieces: Adds 1206 Max Health
  • 5 pieces: When you are affected by a disabling effect, you automatically Break Free for no cost. After using this effect, you become winded and cannot retrigger this effect for 21 seconds.

At five pieces, the Dauntless Combatant Set keeps you mobile. It’s not a great set for specializing in any one playstyle, but during a PVP match it can be invaluable to completely resist somebody else’s stun vs spending time and stamina breaking out of it. It’s craftable in Cropsford.

Dark Loot of Skyrim

Now that you understand what kind of gear you’re looking for, go out there and get it. There’s no particular reason to go with any of these sets over another; it all comes down to personal taste in playstyle. That said, the gear from this Harrowstorm isn’t quite as powerful or useful as the gear from Wrathstone, which still boasts some of the best gear in the game.

On the upside, the dungeons in Harrowstorm are a bit more accessible and easy to beat, meaning that you’ll probably end up using gear from Icereach and Unhallowed Grave in your attempts to beat tougher content that offers more powerful rewards further down the road.
