Cyberpunk 2077 Fast Travel Guide – How to Fast Travel

After tons of delays, Cyberpunk 2077’s dystopian world has finally arrived. In this RPG, players assume the role of V as they make their way through the neon-drenched streets of Night City. Boasting a massive open-world, unique character customization options, and a whole range of ways to approach scenarios, almost every playthrough will be different. Given the sheer scope of Night City and its surrounding territories, sometimes you won’t want to drive to your destination. Thankfully, Cyberpunk 2077 has a fast travel system, but it will require a little legwork first.

Here’s how to unlock fast travel and how this mechanic works:

How to Fast Travel

In Cyberpunk 2077, you can fast travel by visiting one of the various destination terminals in a specific district. On your map, these will be marked by a  blue waypoint marker. Each district has several fast travel stations and players can warp to any of these points on the map. However, you can only use fast travel by visiting one of the travel kiosks and interacting with it. Just highlighting the waypoints on your map at any time will not present you with the option to fast travel. Instead, you will need to hunt for these travel stations and manually interact with them to bring up a far less cluttered map that shows you the different areas you can fast travel too.

Keep in mind, fast travel will not be unlocked right away. This feature took me around two hours to unlock and only a few districts were available to fast travel too. Obviously, as you explore the city and progress through the story more locations to fast travel too will become available. Personally, I recommend ignoring the fast travel system at first. One of the best aspects of Cyberpunk 2077 is the city itself and there are a ton of side quests, characters, and shops you’ll miss if you only warp around to each destination.

Additionally, you can instantly summon your preferred vehicle by pressing V on PC or right on the D-pad if you’re using a controller. Since fast travel points will only bring you close to your objective, you’ll often have to drive or walk the rest of the way. Again, I actually recommend walking since it’s easy to miss a lot of the smaller details and gameplay options available when you’re walking around. While a lot of the stalls and NPCs are window dressing, you may stumble across someone with a bounty on their head or in need of help. Keep in mind, what lifepath you chose will also determine what areas are available right away for fast traveling. Each of the three choices boasts a different prologue, so don’t expect the exact same experience each time you play.

  1. Hey man, currently wondering how to select a destination. As simple as that sounds I can’t seem to figure out how to select a destination when the AI asks me to. Hopefully you know. Thank you in advance and have a great night??
