Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Season 5 is in full swing, which means players are starting to unlock the two new weapons available via the battle pass. While we previously covered the ISO submachine gun, this breakdown is focusing on the newest assault rifle the AN-94. With the Bruen and FAL both receiving nerfs, the door is wide open for the AN-94 to try and make a splash. Whether it will succeed is yet to be seen, however, we don’t expect this weapon to be the most popular choice among serious players.
Here is the best loadout for the AN-94 in Call of Duty: Warzone and what attachments you should use.
Why the AN-94?
The AN-94 is fine. It’s just fine. Unlike some other weapons we’ve seen in Call of Duty: Warzone, the AN-94 is the farthest thing from broken or unbalanced. Normally, this is the section where we’d go over why you should use this gun in Warzone, what its strengths are, but truthfully I am unimpressed by the AN-94. Despite the FAL and Bruen nerf, the AN-94 simply underwhelms in every category. The damage range is very short, it’s time to kill isn’t anything superb, and there are simply better options available. While the gun generally performs well around the 10-30 meter distance, so do a lot of assault rifles. Honestly, if you are looking for an assault rifle in Warzone just use the M13, M4A1, or RAM-7.
Best AN-94 Attachments
- Muzzle – Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel – AN-94 Factory X-438mm
- Ammunition – 60 Round Casket Mag
- Underbarrel – Commando Foregrip
- Laser – Tac Laser
- Optic – Your Choice (Optional)
- Stock – No Changes
- Rear Grip – No Changes
- Perk – No Perk
Wait, you’re serious about using this gun? If you really want to bring the AN-94 into Warzone I suggest slapping on the Monolithic Suppressor. Not only will this increase your range and bullet velocity, but it’ll keep you off the radar when you fire. Our barrel is the AN-94 Factory X-438mm simply because it gives us a big range boost, which is something this rifle desperately needs. You’ll also want the 60 Round Casket Mag to ensure that you can kill any fully armored enemy you come across. These three attachments are non-negotiable, so if you plan on rocking this rifle then these are what you’ll always want on your gun.
For the underbarrel, consider either the Commando Foregrip or Merc Foregrip. Both are good at helping control the gun’s recoil, but I personally always prefer the Commando Foregrip. Here’s where things get a bit tricky, as we’d typically forgo a sight and just use the weapon’s iron sights, but the AN-94’s are abysmal. Because of this, you might want to ditch the Tac Laser for a sight. This will make your ADS (aim down sight) speed pretty low, but at least you’ll actually see your target. If by some miracle the iron sights don’t bug you then just slap on the Tac Laser to compensate for all the ADS penalties.
Unfortunately, the AN-94 is a gun that is simply mediocre and I suspect won’t see a ton of play. You can earn the AN-94 by purchasing the battle pass and reaching rank 31.
