PUBG Mobile SMG Tier List – The Best PUBG Mobile SMG For You

You'll need a steady hand

What makes the best PUBG Mobile SMG? These almost pocketable machine guns sacrifice range for speed, making them terrific weapons not only for firefights around towns and outposts, but toward the final moments of a match where space is at a premium. They excel at mid-range combat where their spectacular rate of fire can, in the right hands, drop targets faster than a stronger assault rifle. If you can manage the intense recoil that firing at high speeds can cause, you’ll soon be tearing through opponents before they have a chance to react. But which is the best PUBG Mobile SMG? Like any weapon in the game, some perform better in more situations than others, but how you handle them will always be the deciding factor.

The Best PUBG Mobile SMGs

The UZI is probably not one of the best PUBG Mobile SMGs right now.

UZI

  • Attachment Slots: Four
  • Attachments: Magazine, Muzzle, Stock
  • Ammo Type: 9mm
  • Fire Rate: 0.048s
  • Magazine Size: 25
  • Reload Time: 3s
  • Rarity: Common
  • Spawns On: Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi, Livik

The Uzi is a quintessential SMG. It’s iconic, but hardly the best PUBG Mobile SMG — or even one of the best. Its rate of fire may be through the roof, but too many sacrifices are made to manage its tiny stature. Its magazine is relatively small, its size means there’s little way to manage its recoil, and its spread requires you to be exceptionally close to your target to have any chance of landing enough hits to make the difference. What it does have going for it, however, is its use of 9mm ammo. That’s handgun ammo. That stuff is everywhere and mostly ignored by other players. Keep this thing close and you’ll always have something to use. It’s a good backup weapon if you have a “main” tool in your arsenal for use in most situations, but it’s a real “spray and pray” sort of gun.

The MP5K is one of the best PUBG Mobile SMGs.

MP5K

  • Attachment Slots: Six
  • Attachments: Sights, Canted Sight, Muzzle, Foregrip, Magazine, Stock
  • Ammo Type: 9mm
  • Fire Rate: 0.054s
  • Magazine Size: 19
  • Reload Time: 2.2s
  • Rarity: Common
  • Spawns On: Erangel, Sanhok, Miramar, Vikendi, Livik

The MP5K is often ignored by players, making it freely available on the one map where it features: Vikendi. Is there any reason why it gets passed over, though? Not really. The MP5K is a solid choice. It’s not the best PUBG Mobile SMG out there, but it’s a better option for most over the Uzi. While it’s true that the Uzi can theoretically put out more damage per second, its unmanageable recoil tends to see the MP5K pull out ahead. Unless you have impeccable aim, the easier, two-handed operation of the MP5K will make it quicker to drop opponents over its stubbier cousin.

The UMP45 is one of the best PUBG Mobile SMGs right now.

UMP45

  • Attachment Slots: Five
  • Attachments: Muzzle, Foregrip, Magazine, Sights, Canted Sight
  • Ammo Type: .45ACP
  • Fire Rate: 0.092s
  • Magazine Size: 25
  • Reload Time: 3.1s
  • Rarity: Common
  • Spawns On: Erangel, Sanhok Miramar, Vikendi, Livik

Dubbed the “universal machine pistol” for a reason, the UMP45 is a very popular pick out in the field both in-game and in the real world. Landing only slightly behind the infamous Tommy Gun in terms of average damage output (which we’ll get to soon), the UMP45 improves on most of the former gun’s issues. It’s easier to control, can accept a wider variety of attachments, and comes with stellar recoil management (for an SMG) right out of the gate. Even without add-ons, this is good to go as soon as you find it. You’ll see a lot of these toward the end of a match. You’ll need .45ACP ammo for this one, but it’s worth searching for.

The Vector is one of the best PUBG Mobile SMGs.

Vector

  • Attachment Slots: Six
  • Attachments: Magazine, Sights, Canted Sight, Muzzle, Foregrip, Stock
  • Ammo Type: 9mm
  • Fire Rate: 0.054s
  • Magazine Size: 19
  • Reload Time: 2.2s
  • Rarity: Common
  • Spawns On: Erangel, Sanhok, Miramar, Vikendi, Livik

The peculiar-looking Vector has a lot going for it, but it does need a few attachments to really shine in the latter half of any  match. Its built-in support and smartly designed features reduces recoil to generous lows for a gun in its class. High fire rate and decent damage can see it shred early on, but this will drop off as enemies armor up. What determines if it falls foul or not, regardless of match time, is its capacity.

At 19 rounds per magazine, you want to fix this with an extended mag as soon as possible. It’s serviceable without one — with pretty good reload speed — but it can become a liability if you’re unable to drop your opponent in one clip. You will be pretty close to your target, after all. Where it shines, however, is its acceptance of most of the game’s attachments. It’s a weapon system in that regard. You can customize it to your exact specifications, making the Vector one of the best PUBG Mobile SMGs all around. Its 9mm chamber only makes it easier to recommend.

The reason it lands more towards the back of the pack is that reliance on mods. With the right pickups, it’s wonderful. Without them, it’s just fine.

The Thompson is, to some, one of the best PUBG Mobile SMGs right now.

Thompson

  • Attachment Slots: Four
  • Attachments: Magazine, Foregrip, Muzzle, Sights
  • Ammo Type: .45ACP
  • Fire Rate: 0.092
  • Magazine Size: 30
  • Reload Time: 3.1s
  • Rarity: Common
  • Spawns On: Erangel, Sanhok, Miramar, Vikendi, Livik

Though it may be cool (and strong) the Thompson is rarely a wise choice. It’s the strongest SMG on the list right now, but in using the slightly rarer .45 ACP ammo type, it fires more slowly than most of the others on the list. this can quickly become the deciding factor for most shorter-range SMG fights.

It’s better to fire faster than slower with greater accuracy. Frantic firing can put people on edge, reducing their own aim in the process, and the Thompson just doesn’t strike that kind of fear into its opponents these days.

If you do come across one, however, get an extended mag. Almost doubling its capacity can make it an easier recommendation in mid-range altercations. With the option between automatic and single-fire mode, it is capable of popping people off from moderate range in a pinch. Just don’t overplay your hand. The Thompson is powerful but not so versatile.

The Bizon is one of the best PUBG Mobile SMGs for most situations.

PP-19 Bizon

  • Attachment Slots: Three
  • Attachments: Muzzle, Sights, Canted Sight
  • Ammo Type: 9mm
  • Fire Rate: 0.086s
  • Magazine Size: 53
  • Reload Time: 3.8s
  • Rarity: Common
  • Spawns On: Erangel, Sanhok, Miramar, Vikendi, Livik

The PP-19 Bizon is one of the best PUBG Mobile SMGs around right now. Though you can only find it on Erangel and the commonly unavailable Vikendi, taking the time to learn how it operates can give you a reliable weapon in most fights on the game’s biggest, most popular map.

It has a massive built-in stock and is chambered for common 9mm ammunition. That means you can empty its impressively large 53-round default magazine both swiftly and accurately. You’ll struggle to customize it to your exact specifications with only two attachment points, but once you’re familiar with its effective range and bullet drift further out, you’ll be able to deal damage with this gun from medium range and go in for the kill without having to reload — an essential bonus as you stop someone approaching your outpost. The quicker you outfit it with a silencer and your preferred sight, the deadlier you’ll be.

The P90 is one of the best PUBG Mobile SMGs on the one map it spawns on.

P90

  • Attachment Slots: Three
  • Attachments: Muzzle, Foregrip, Sights
  • Ammo Type: 9mm
  • Fire Rate: 0.070s
  • Magazine Size: 50
  • Reload Time: 3.1s
  • Rarity: Common
  • Spawns On: Livik

Exclusive to Livik, the P90 is the best PUBG Mobile SMG due purely to that limitation. Being bound to a map that’s small enough to make SMGs viable virtually 100 percent of the time, the P90’s rapid fire rate, 9mm chambering, and high magazine capacity makes it the best weapon to pick up on the map bar the pseudo-SMG FAMAS assault rifle (another Livik-exclusive firearm). With just a half-decent optical sight slapped on top, the P90 is a catch-all weapon on Livik. It can just be fairly difficult to come across in a hurry, however. It’s a popular pick in most games it appears in and the same can be said for its PUBG Mobile iteration as well.
